Description

From the Manufacturer EF-M 22mm f/2 STMUltra slim and compact, the new EF-M 22mm f/2 STM is an EOS M series digital camera's moderate wide-angle lens that's small and light enough to carry everywhere. Its bright f/2.0 lens aperture works well with the large sensor to provide exceptional low-light performance, as well as create beautiful background blur in portraits. An aspheric lens element delivers high resolution and high contrast. For moviemakers, the EF-M 22mm f/2 STM utilizes a built-in stepping motor to provide smooth and quiet continuous autofocus when shooting video with an EOS M series digital camera. A circular aperture (7 blades) delivers soft-focus backgrounds and a short minimum focusing distance of only 5.9 inches (0.15 meters) allows you to get closer to your subjects. • Extremely useful!
Style: Lens Only
I had this with my m50 and it carried my team of lenses. I bought it used at $125 usd and it was keeping up with my sigma 16mm (a $300-400) lens in fact, it was sharper and better color. I went on a trip and had this attached my m50 the whole time. It’s very inconspicuous for street photography and b-roll footage. Handled the M50s attempt at 4K and looked decent with cropped sensor. You just gotta get decent at manual focusing if you go to 4K land. Yeah if you travel a lot. This lens is essential!!! ... show more

  • Awesome EOS-M Lens
Style: Lens Only
Great quality lens for the price. So much better than the 24mm 2.8 EF-S lens I used to have (which required an adapter). Awesome BOKEH, great low light, super fast focusing, small, and super sharp images. Not made in Japan, though :(

  • Great compact lens
Style: Lens Only
Great little lens, but I don't think there's any IS here, so product title is misleading. Good bokeh if held close enough to the subject, quick and quiet AF (not incredibly fast...), and good AF performance in video. All-around very nice lens and does everything I expected, and does it well.

  • Simply AWESOME!!!
Style: Lens Only
Amazing lens, worth every penny!! Very fast on my M10 and M5, always nice clean clear pictures. This is a must have for anyone with an M series camera. Video is amazing as well.

  • Nice little lens
Style: Lens Only
Good quality fast lens for the little camera. It fits in the same small bag with my M100 and its kit lens. Definitely NOT a replacement for DSLRs and pro-glass, but much better than just using my iPhone camera.

  • BEST LENS EVER!!!
Style: Lens Only
I wanted this lens for my Canon Eos M3 because the kit lens (18-55mm) is really bulky and heavy. The purpose for purchasing the M3 was to have a dslr quality camera without the bulk. The kit lens made my petite M3 feel like a dslr which defeated the entire purpose of having it. The smallest lens they make for the mirrorless series is this 22mm f2. I had high expectations for this tiny lens and let me tell you, this lens exceeded all of my expectations. It is beautiful in low light, captures crisp vibrant photos, takes excellent video, and has exceptional bokeh. It was so fun to play with, and most important it was light weight. It made my M3 feel like a toy camera! This is my go to camera for making youtube videos, and now this lens will forever be on my camera. ... show more

  • Not for me.
Style: Lens Only
I bought the lens for astrophotography which might have been my first mistake due to the horrible chromatic aberration, but even when I tried it like I am turning my M50 into a virtual 35mm disposable camera (because 22mm @ 1.6 crop factor is 35mm equivalent,) I just felt it was a boring configuration for me. THIS CAMERA DOES have that “gorgeous” Canon look, so if you are looking for a lens option for a party at night then this is a good option. It is going to produce some very gorgeous 35mm-disposable-camera-photo-esque photos if this is what you are after. But that’s about all it will do in my opinion. ... show more
