I’ve been thinking about getting this lens [24-105mm] or the canon 16-35mm or the sigma 16-35mm lens and I mainly got this lens for the image stabilization and although the image stabilization looks a bit wonky and I feel like no matter what lens you get that has I.S. In it, it’s going to look like that, I still admire the quality of this lens especially knowing that it’s REFURBISHED, it’s still impressive. I recorded the video on 23fps because I’m slowly trying to take a step into film making and get used to the frame rate because I admire 60fps due to the flexibility of slow motion when necessary. I don’t think my examples here justify the lens entirely, that’s why I want to do an update review for the lens but I’m not entirely satisfied because I’m a little concerned for the low light performance, I don’t know if it’s because of my camera or it’s the lens Itself but just like all photography and film making, lighting matters! it was cloudy/snowing outside and no lights were on inside so the image quality wouldn’t be its best but I plan on going to Boston to do some really good photography with this beast of a lens, Another concern I have is the Bokeh or Depth of field, it’s not as strong as the 50mm lens however when it shows, it’s smooth and my aperture goes down to 2.8 with the speed booster :o , so there is depth of field which is nice just not entirely as strong as the 50mm but I need more practice with it, Also the camera I’m using is the Canon M50 Mk2 and I highly recommend getting this lens so far just for the soul reason that it’s a really professional lens and it’s quality is amazing and it’s flexible with its composition. ... show more

Virtually silent and rapid response. Reassuringly solid construction. I have used Canon kit as a pro for over 30 years. I am still buying into mirror cameras. Modern mirrorless cameras are not up to the kind of punishment my cameras get. It’s a fact of life that I shoot in dirty dusty and often wet conditions. This lens is weather sealed so offers good protection from rain splashes etc. sits on my 7D and 5D cameras very comfortably. A great workhorse but I will always use prime lenses for critical work. This lens was listed as renewed and refurbished and in excellent condition- I wouldn’t have purchased it otherwise. But the listing was false. The lens arrived in a basic box, without a lens hood included as one of the original accessories. It did have the lens caps. After opening the package; I immediately saw a dent on the front surface of the glass! When placing the lens on my Canon 6D Mark II, the lens struggled significantly on Autofocus, slightly shaking when searching for focus and making a much louder noise than the usual, especially for what’s supposed to be an ultra sonic motor. I’ve worked with many lenses and even in low light, they don’t make the noises this lens does! After trying to test it with a few snaps, the camera read a lens error a few times. Upon placing my own lens back on my camera, the errors stopped. I really want to enjoy this lens after waiting for over 2 weeks for it but it’s too risky to keep a lens that showed up with immediate problems and was not listed in the correct condition because this lens is definitely not in good let alone excellent refurbished condition. Love it, Zoom is great, a little heavy but that's OK and it was renewed and the price was very reasonable compared to buying a New one. But it's just like New to me. I'm so excited to start using it.
