Price was attractive. Like most gun safes in this price range, the advertised is nowhere close to the actual. However, it was a good base to build a very good ,functional safe upon. After extensive modifications, I can store safely what the company originally advertised this safe would hold.

    • Don’t buy this safe
Do not buy this safe. Within one year we had issues opening the safe. We called customer service and spent hours on the phone. The cannon representative was un helpful, ultimately told us we couldn’t speak to someone else.. kept telling us to do the exact same thing to “troubleshoot” wouldn’t send us a technician. ... show more

    • I love it. Well it is a big steel box that holds a lot.
I had 3 other gun security cabinets that were filled to the max. They were all rated at 14 guns but none of them would hold that many. I have had the Canon now for about 5 years. I got it at a stupid price (less than $800 delivered from a big box buyers club.) To good to be true, but it was. It was a curbside delivery so I needed my tractor and pallet forks to get it the 300 feet from the road to the house. I absolutely love it. It is rated at 72 guns but if they have scopes you will get about half that many in it. My 50 cal muzzle loader with a 39 inch barrel just fits. The safe is in an attached garage environment that is lightly heated. (just above freezing). It looks exactly like it did when I unboxed it. The lock works flawlessly on the original battery and I open it frequently. It is deeper than many similar safes and it make it much easier to get your stuff in there. It is heavy.     • Cannon cheats!!
First of all - Cannon cheats when they state the volume of their safes. They put the safe's EXTERIOR volume, not INTERIOR!!! It is like saying that this car's engine is 100 liters. Wow, right? Well, it's actually its exterior volume that is 100 liters. The cylinders' displacement is only 1.8 liters. So be careful and use your calculator to find out the real useful volume of your safe. I bought a Cannon a few years ago. It worked fine first 3-4 years. Then the hinges started turning rusty. The exterior paint started peeling off. Then the electronic lock failed, then it became so rusty in'n'out that one day I just could not open it - the key stuck in the lock. My safe was installed in my home office where I have lots of different metal things. Nothing ever got rusty beside that safe. It must be the special super cheap "steel" that Cannon uses that turns into crap after 5 years. I called Cannon and asked if it can be fixed. I was thinking of maybe buying a new door with all the lock mechanisms inside. Cannon said that they discontinued the model and they do not have any parts for it any more. And that I needed to hire a locksmith to open it. OK, but what do I do with the broken safe after the locksmith drilled out the lock??? A safe is not toilet paper. It is not even a toilet. It is supposed to last for many many years. Imagine buying a 10 yo preowned Toyota. You take it to a dealer for maintenance and the guy says: "the model has been discontinued, we have no parts for it, sorry". That's what I was told by the Cannon rep on the phone.
