It’s obvious but I’ll say it anyway… even with a dimmer you really need to be a fan of bare bulb filaments. With 12 of them you’re bound to give yourself a headache. But I already knew that would be a problem for me going into this, so I bought black mini shades to clip over the bulbs. Should look good if Amazon ever sends them. It’ll look even better if I ever finish the ceiling beams but that’s another story. I have mine hanging from a vaulted ceiling over a large island, so it’s not overwhelming, but it easily could be if you don’t have higher ceilings. It’s 30” going up from the bottom of the fixture to where the chain finally starts, so even over a dining table you’d want at LEAST 9’ ceilings. Definitely not made for 8’ ceilings. In an entry way or living room you’d probably want 10’ ceilings minimum. Just an opinion on all that. Quality is about what you’d expect. I think it’s a little overpriced, but not too bad. Not the best quality but not junk by any means. Some reviewers are complaining about instructions. You don’t need them. If you’ve hung light fixture in the past you can do this. Past experience with Legos might help you too. Main difference between this and any other simple fixture is you’re assembling, fishing wires and combining wires with (included) crimp wire nuts on this one. Have channel locks ready for crimping and to take apart and shorten the chain from the options they give you if necessary. When you’re routing the wire up the chain, go into every other link with it… skip a link between them. Use the zip ties in the enclosure midway where you combine four wires with the crimp nuts. I’ll state the obvious again… go with LEDs. It’s a lot of wattage you’re looking at if you go incandescent. ... show more

Was very skeptical because there weren’t many reviews, took a gamble since this was the cheapest version of this light. It looks so good!! It’s lightweight, and gorgeous. Looks just like the fancy ones at the furniture stores for a fraction of the price. Directions were kind of confusing however.
