Installing this water heater in my outdoor shower was pretty easy. It was up and ready in about half an hour. We did need to put some braces up first because there are 3 screws at the top and 1 at the bottom. Our shower wall has spaces between our boards so the screws didn’t all line up. A little extra work, but better in the long run. I’ve only used the shower once, but there are a couple of things I am picky about. The worst thing is that the water temperature fluctuates about 10 degrees. I thought I had it set to 102* which is actually hotter than I like, but it’s a cool day. It went down to 94* before I touched it. It then went up to 106* before I touched it again. I could not get it to hold a constant temperature at all. I am not happy about that, but the water pressure is so great that I will deal with it. The other thing is the shower hose/head. There’s no way to turn it off and on. I will be purchasing a new hose/shower head asap. ... show more

Have purchased 10 months ago, and have had some problems controlling temp. It has been used for the Granddaughter, who is a quadriplegic. It has been used anywhere from 2 times a month to 4 times. It has stopped working. Do not waist your money. UPDATE: Camplux service center reached out to help with the problem I was having and ended up sending a new unit to replace the old one. For the price I was expecting better quality and something that would work and be safe to use. It basically doesn’t work following the provided user instructions/ safety procedures. The heating unit will not light unless there is low flow, which directly contradicts the directions “start with high flow and low temperature.” I was able to get the heating unit to engage with low flow and high temp which creates water that is unsafe and too hot to safely use. The water and heat control knobs are loose and have a ton of “play” which isn’t conducive for fine tuning temperature even if it did heat properly. The handle/head leaks water out of the on/off button and when I consulted the instructions on how to clean the head (which is completely unnecessary as I am using it for the first time right out of the box) the handle/ head I have is different from the one in the instructions. I got this to replace a unit from another company purchased last year with a one-month warranty. It worked fine last year, and again when I pulled it out of winter storage this year... but only once, then it completely quit. This one has a one-year warranty, so maybe it's better. It looks like it was made in the same factory with many of the same parts, and it mounted with exactly the same screw holes as the old one, so I'm only semi-optimistic about its longevity. At least for now it's working, and I must give it credit for producing hotter water than the old unit. That one was highly variable in the amount of heat it put out, and sometimes couldn't quite reach the temperature I like for a shower. This Camplux unit easily hits the temperature I like (115 degrees F, according to its display), and will go much hotter. The only fault I can identify so far is the sensitivity of the settings. The smallest change in the control dials will result in a big change in temperature. On the plus side, it is very repeatable from shower to shower, so doesn't require a lot of fiddling once you get it set the way you like it. This unit comes with some adapters to convert its British pipe threads to standard American garden hose threads, but that might not be exactly what you want, so be prepared to purchase other adapters. Other than that, it's easy to hang on a wall and simple to operate. I just hope this one lasts. ... show more

    • I love it and hate one part of it

They made a great product but used low quality shower hose.I received my heater the day before we were going camping late so never got a chance to test it before hand.When we got to the campground I took it out of the box set it up according to the instructions and added a low flow water pressure restrictor to the line.The heater was very easy to set up as the instructions were very clear.Once set up the product preformed just as advertised even better really had to turn the heat down.Took one shower with it and then it happened.The hose from the heater to the wand burst at the base of the heater pouring water all over the heater inside and out.Wanting to give the company the benefit of the doubt and thinking this was just a bad hose slipping through the inspection process.Luckily for me we were close to a store and the hose and wand were standard size pick one up and dried the unit out put the new hose on and the unit work great so far. The hose that burst I had a chance to look at and then I really got pissed the metal surrounding the hose came apart and exposed the inner hose which was a real flimsy piece of garbage it was maybe the thickness of a balloon. WHY would you do that to a great well constructed product.Cheapen it up with an flimsy poorly constructed hose. The heater is a great product and will give 5 stars, the hose is a piece of garbage and too the company {Get your act together]the money you save by not using good quality parts is going to cost you business ... show more
