Fits in California Campground Fire Pits
This grate fit perfectly in the California Campground fire pits provided at camp sites. I use a combination of charcoal and hickory wood chunks to make sausage, hot dogs, burgers, vegetables for our family. Sturdy. As expected when trying to clean... it's a bbq grate. I bring an oven glove to remove grate when its time for Smores! Exactly what I wanted. Very pleased with purchase. Will be using this bbq grate many times a year.

Great for campfire cooking and easy to clean
Pretty lightweight but plenty sturdy to hold even a full cast iron dutch oven over the fire! After a few uses the surface has warped just a little from the heat, but it didn't affect the legs closing or opening. Any ash shakes off pretty easily. I store it outside near my fire pit and the weather hasn't damaged it.If I get 2-3 seasons out of it, I'm thrilled! Good value for the price. It's lightweight enough to take camping, and it folds to just a couple of inches flat.

Let's see how it holds up on my upcoming camping trip
Ok where to begin. Received product with damage to the box that had open small area in the back like if something was placed on top of it, shipping box was undamaged tho? Anyways, took the grill out to see if there was any damage to the grill but none I could see. Like many here, Camp Chef paints the grill black and seem to have heard the complaints as my grill was not painted, except for some overspay on the grill along the border line that was painted black. Only wish they took the extra effort to tape or at least cover the grill to avoid overspay onto the grill where the food will be cooked. The overspay was minimal, but still. Not sure if they also oil their grills as mine seemed oiled? Was clean new but def oiled. Hopefully not a returned product that I received, won't be returning it tho, will be cleaned thoroughly before use. Sturdy, strong material by feel. Hopefully it will hold fine and not warp. Will be using it this weekend when I go camping, and I'll give it a follow up review. Other than the minor overspay solid buy, but will "burn it off" like a few suggested... Only wish they sell an non painted version.

Perfect for open fire grilling
Perfect. Exactly what we needed for cooking over a fire! Biggest complaint is that you need some type of carrying case. It gets dirty (obviously!) Which makes transporting difficult. We kept it in the original box all summer. But the box has finally broken and we will need a solution to protect the rest of our stuff from being covered in soot from the open flames while traveling. The legs adjust but the smaller fire rings tend to be difficult to get it set up level.

Great for campfire cooking
Took this camping with us on fourth of July weekend. Great over the fire pit. Easily portable and storageable.

Poor quality control.
Poor quality control on Camp Chef. I thought it was damaged in shipping, but the welds and assembly are crooked, and grate bowed. Grate is barely tack welded underneath.

Great and easy addition for my Green Mountain Grill Daniel Boone
Works great in my green mountain grill Daniel Boone. I did a 16 pound brisket that I separated between the point and the flat. The shelf let me cook them faster and easier. I've also used it for wings and pork belly burnt ends without a problem. It comes in and out without a problem and is easy to clean.

Cheaply Made, doesn't work for intended use
Bought to use on camping trips, it started to warp and bend after the 3rd outing. Something made for cooking over open fire shouldn't warp from the heat. Especially after 3 outings. Pretty pathetic honestly. If I buy something made for campfire use I expect it to be able to withstand heat.
