  • Beyond perfect.
Pattern Name: Camera Style: 1296P
I purchased this beauty because of the harassment I have been receiving. I’m not the guy that walks around recording everything I see. However, I clip this on to my shirt, place it on record and go on with my day to day activities. Note: My device stopped working. I corresponded with the seller; I was made aware of the reset button location under the HDMI flap. Protect your and let’s stay safe out here guys. ... show more

  • Impressive!
Pattern Name: Camera Style: 1296P
The media could not be loaded. Background: Let me start off by saying I use this body camera to record my site surveys. I am an engineer so I bought this body camera to clip onto my shirt or backpack shoulder strap as I am walking around a site to get an idea of the layout of existing equipment. Software: The software is not very intuitive for the average user. You have to be familiar with using a desktop computer to install the software and to use it. The software used to read the properties of the camera look like it was made by a college student in visual basic. It works but it's very rudimentary and the user interface is very basic. The built-in camera software is good. There are many options and it seems straight forward for the average or advanced user to configure. Quality: The quality is very good considering the price. Remember that this is a body camera and not a GoPro. I have a GoPro as well. This does not record in 4K probably because 4K takes up a lot of memory and drains the battery faster. Remember this is used just to document occurrences without great detail. This camera does that very well with a maximum resolution of 2304 x 1296 at 30 FPS. There are several other settings for lower resolutions to keep the memory empty per each recording. There is no image stabilization so you will see shaky video. If you hold still while filming then it will look very clear but when you are moving expect pixelation especially in "super fine" quality mode. The sound is very good. The microphone is clear and you can hear ambient noise as well as voices clearly. The color is vibrant. Not washed out or too saturated. There's a good balance. All-in-all the quality is very good considering the price. Features: The camera has an image mode, video mode with delayed recording and loop recording. There is also a GPS feature which displays your latitude and longitude coordinates on the video. The GPS can take a while to connect and doesn't show up most of the time. You also have a burst mode for photos and a self-timer for photos as well as continuous shooting. I didn't buy the camera for still pictures but it's nice to have those options. The Infrared is fantastic! There is an option to have auto infrared or manual, I keep it on auto so when I go to a low light area then the IR LEDs will click on and the filter will activate in the video. It takes excellent low light video. Especially in pitch black. There is also an option to have a regular LED white light to turn on while recording without IR. The white light LED is not that powerful in low light conditions. Mounting: They include a small but decently sturdy pocket clip to attached to a backpack, front shirt seam or the like. I suggest buying an aftermarket magnetic mount. You clip the camera to the outside portion of the magnetic mount and then attach it to your clothing with the "inside" portion via magnets so it stays in place. The clip has a nice spring action to it and contains teeth to grip onto anything. It also rotates on the base to align it properly. Miscellaneous: The dock that came with the camera is a little useless in my opinion. You can connect the camera directly to a computer or an outlet via the given power supply. It's nice to have the dock to just click it in at the end of the day but I don't really use it. The camera uses Mini USB Type B which is extremely bizarre. These days you'd expect USB-C or a micro USB connection. You may have to buy longer third party USB-A to Mini USB Type B cables if required. There is a connection to HDMI and AV out using a standard 3.5mm jack. The buttons are easy to press and seem very responsive. Conclusion: For the price it's a GREAT body camera. However I will only give it 4-stars because of the GPS connection being spotty, the pixelation when moving, the potentially difficult software and the Mini USB-B connection. Other than that it's a great camera for use of documenting certain interactions and areas minus the major details like small text. It does its job for my purposes very well. Attached you will see a sample video of my survey. It's just me walking around getting an idea of the layout of the existing space. Nothing too detailed. ... show more

  • Decent quality, good nightvision, and rugged design but battery drain is a big miss
Pattern Name: Camera Style: 1296P
This camera is built nicely. All of the features are packed into a rugged case that keeps out dust, dirt, and water. So far I haven't had any issues with the body or screen being compromised from outdoor elements. Footage: Video quality is okay, but nothing amazing. At the lowest (1280x720, 30FPS) you get good quality SD footage. However for modern times 720 is pretty low. If you want to bump up to higher resolutions then you'll quickly notice battery drains much faster. The only other thing I've noticed is that fast motion can sometimes cause the video to frame blur/skip frames. The audio is actually pretty decent, though. Recording: The record time is another feature where I have to drop a few stars. On a full charge I'm lucky to get a standby charge of 11 hours. However, I have never yet been able to record for 11 hours in a row as stated by the product description. I'm lucky to record maybe 4-5 hrs in a row regularly, or fi the IR is on, that time drops to about 2.5-4 hrs. I would highly recommend bringing a separate IR flood light and a charging pack to carry with you, otherwise this camera dies out relatively quickly. Easy to use: I still find myself fumbling around for the right buttons, but I suppose that just comes with use. It's a lot harder to engage the power on and record buttons when this is mounted on a chest strap/backpack should strap. As far as transferring footage off the device and onto your PC, I've had tons of issues. I find that if I try to use any GUI to move files the camera will repeatedly disconnect and reconnect from USB. If I just transfer the files in bulk from powershell or a bash emulator then I have no problem. Slightly frustrating but not a deal breaker. The only other thing to be aware of -- this thing is LOUD. Turning it on, shutting it off, and engaging buttons is some of the loudest sounds I've ever heard. I had to tape up the speakers to muffle it a bit. Lowering the volume in the user settings doesn't affect this sound whatsoever. Overall, a good camera, lots of storage, and with the video quality settings turned up relatively nice footage. It's built tough to survive the elements, but the product is marred by battery drain issues. ... show more

  • The clip can fail
Pattern Name: Camera Style: 1296P
The only problem with it is that the clip doesn't hold up well. The clip somehow gave out three times causing the camera to drop and the last time I lost the Camera. When clipped to my belt and pulled on, it clamped very tight, but when moving around or doing some work, the clip can somehow be separated from where attached. ... show more
