I needed a multi-angle adjustable mount for my trail camera ( trailcam ). The installation of this particular trailcam is unconventional, because of the HORIZONTAL orientation that I chose for it. As a result, there's a considerable overhung load exerted on the mounting hardware, and I was skeptical that such a tiny camera mount as this one could hold it in place. The location was the side of a wooden handrail at the steps for the exterior door of our home's sunroom. See photo image #1. I had previously tried a different camera mount, which ultimately failed. It had a jaw clamp design, and was about 6 or 8 times as massive as this little guy. In order to clamp it tight enough to grip the handrail under the aforementioned load, it's unhardened steel clamping bolt eventually sheared apart due to the torque I applied. See photo image #2. So now you can understand how much I appreciate this outperforming substitute, despite its diminuitive size. My only complaint is that the (3) wood screws included with it are made of inferior material. One of them sheared apart under the torque of my manual screwdriver about 2mm before its head came into contact with the mounts flange. If you zoom in on photo #1, the missing 3d screw head is evident. Remarkably the little mount is still able to fasten the load to the handrail via only 2 woodscrews !! With that said, I would've given this item a 5-star rating if not for its weak wood screws made of inferior metal. ... show more

    • Got Rift? GET THESE!!!
These are FANTASTIC for mounting your Rift sensors. Install is a breeze. I have three sensors all mounted upside down (and yes, that works fine - just go through the setup again) and these hold them perfectly for room scale. I saw some reviews about "how" to install these which made it over complicated. Install is dead simple: Take OFF the adjustment piece. Hold the base up to wherever you are going to put your sensor (remember to come in a few inches to leave room for the sensor and wire run). Now, make the three holes with a sharpie or pencil etc. Pre-drill with a small starter bit. I used 3/32 I think. Take the base back up and 1/2 way screw in the first screw. Then the second and third. Now just HAND tighten them down. Once you are "firmly" attached connect your sensor to the mount. (You just unscrew the original stands - it MAY take some force depending. 2 of mine were super easy, one was stuck like Chuck.) Once you have the sensors attached to the mount, attach THAT to the base. You just made your life easy. I have 2 in wood veneer, and 1 in the popcorn ceiling. I did NOT use the anchors. There is no need if you do not over tighten (AKA STRIP THE HOLE) and plan on managing your cable. Had them up for months, no drift or any other issues at all. I purchased these to mount small/light web cameras stationary in our classroom. First impression was they were tiny and felt cheaply made - the set screw doesn't have a strong feel and if it is backed all the way out (which is easy to do accidently) it feels like a sloppy fit to re-insert it. The camera mount screw feels like it is just barely long enough and isn't easy to tighten down snug. Although they are strong/firm enough to hold my super light weight camera in the intended position, I wouldn't want to mount an expensive or heavy camera from these. This is both because of the reasons above with the mount screw not having a high confidence feel and also with everything tightened fully my small camera still moves easily with the smallest bumps. So why three stars? Because they were cheap and they got the job done. ... show more

I read reviews before ordering these. They are made in China. They do not have the versatility that 2 jointed mounts have and if you need room for a large or heavy camera or device this might not be for you. I used these for mounting standard size and fairly lightweight cameras and i have been pleased with them. Besides one mount that came with an expensive camera that has allen screws that tighten very easily, i actually prefer this style. While i can NOT speak for their longevity, these are easier to install and none have loosened during the the weather changes we have had between 20 degree fahrenheit at night to 60 Degree evenings. Also, where the screws mount is a tighter diameter than others so you can fit them on a narrower surfaces. ... show more

    • Good option for Oculus Sensor mounts
Finally have a space to dedicate to VR. Looked for mounting options and saw a lot of people drilling holes in their sensor base and mounting on the ceiling. I thought "There must be a better way" and soon enough, I saw some people recommending security camera mounts. I found a high rated vendor and decided to skim the reviews to see if anyone else had used it for sensor mounting. Sure enough, there were many! I took the chance and was not disappointed. They work fine for me mounted into the drywall on my ceiling. I used a more robust drywall anchor for one of the 3 mounting holes on each unit, just because my kids room is directly above the ceiling and they like to jump around. These aren't the highest quality units, but if you take your time to familiarize yourself with the limitations of movement and how to adjust the angle--They are great. Color/paint the screw heads to make the install look a little nicer and enjoy your VR setup. ... show more
