  • Great heavy lense retaining assembly.
I was looking for a fastener to safely and securely carry a heavy lenses and relieve the stress on the regular camera strap points. This assembly is well constructed. It has an interlock release to avoid accidental release situations. It has a retaking screw with D adjuster. If you the strap heavy duty strap clip.on the camera, it will provide additional security from dropping. ... show more

  • Solid option for 3rd party Peak design capture clip
This 3rd party capture clip design works pretty well. I actually do like the design of the latching system, as it is super quick, and latching makes the connection. Because the latching system is fixed, there is a maximum thickness that this clip would theoretically latch to. This system does avoid having to sit there and screw/unscrew your capture clip, but it does not feel AS secure if it were screwed in, like Peak Design. Speaking of Peak Design, I tested it on the Everyday sling 10L and the BP V2 30L, and it worked great. Attaching it to the Pro Pad also worked out well. I honestly liked how the clip is a singular piece that just folds over, with no worry of losing a screw of one part of the plate flying away. That being said, you are stuck in the Amazear gear system. This does not fit with Peak Design capture clips or even the NEEWER capture clips. The locking system is good to have, but not as convenient as the Peak Design style locks. The action of clipping and unclipping is not as smooth as the PD, but perfectly fine once you get used to it. A quick browse through the Amazear storefront on Amazon, and there is not much crossover with this capture clip. Maybe in the future if they continue to develop tripods or maybe even adaptable mounts (ARCA to AMAZear would be cool) then this might be worth going into the Amazear gear system. ... show more

  • Clip easily falls off strap (& drops your camera)
The media could not be loaded. I tried the clip and spent quite a lot of time trying to get it to securely attach to a backpack strap, but the clip kept opening on its own. The design is flawed. The quick release works fine, it's the clip that goes over the strap that is not secure. There is no way to lock the clip over the strap. It is held in place just by pressure. I came dangerously close to dropping my camera trying out this clip. If I did not have the camera strap over my shoulder as a precaution, the camera would have hit the ground. The clip released from the strap over a dozen times before I gave up and started writing my review. If it had accidentally opened even once, that would be one too many times and I could not recommend it. But a dozen failures? That is nearly a guarantee that this clip is going to fail and drop your camera. You would need to be extraordinarily careful to avoid releasing the clip. And the entire point of using a camera clip is for when you are on the go. There are many other clips available that truly and securely lock onto the strap and cannot drop your camera. I would look at one of those options. I would never trust this clip. ... show more

  • Works well securing camera to just about any strap, but be careful
The camera backpack clip is really good at adapting to different sized backpack straps or other straps, even waist belts. The way it is designed, it can connect to very thin or thicker, padded straps. Once clipped in, you press down on the round button on top to release the camera mounting plate. Seems simple enough... I find that there are some issues though. When connecting to thinner straps, even when adjusted on both ends for the thinnest setting, the clip does secure, however, underneath the silver 'clamp' is a black piece that can be popped out rather easily and make the whole clip disengage then fall off. Not good. Even when using thicker straps, even though the clip is harder to pop out, it can still be popped out resulting in bad things. I'm thinking that a piece of electrical or gaffing tape put over the black clip (underneath the silver clamp) may help as it would have a harder time getting caught up on something then popping out. I'll still use this clamp, albeit very carefully after what i've witnessed can happen. For the price (currently at just under 60 bucks) i'd probably look elsewhere next time. The review ranking system that I use: ⭐️1 star - Don't recommend at all, poor quality, misleading listing and/or other issues ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - Don't recommend, has multiple issues ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - Passable, may have some faults/issues but the quality is ok for what it is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Quite acceptable, does what it says & would or may purchase again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Highly recommended product, better than average rating ... show more

  • Great clip for hikes and street photography walks. Comfortable, even with a long lens.
This Amazear backpack camera clip was sent to me for review as part of the VINE program. I am a photographer and I used this clip on a recent hiking trip in the mountains. I tested it with my Nikon Z7II with a 70-200mm telephoto lens attached to really challenge the clip. I was cautious to keep an eye on the camera and clip just in case the clip became undone while walking which might have resulted in my expensive camera gear crashing to the ground. Well, I'm happy to report no such issues arose and the clip held my large camera setup securely on my backpack strap. There wasn't a single moment during that outing that made me worry the clip couldn't handle the weight of my set up that day. It was completely secure and also felt comfortable on my left shoulder. Having such a long lens attached to the camera isn't ideal but not because the clip isn't up to it. Due to the backpack strap's position on my body and how the camera sat as a result, the lens was hanging down my left side and was in the way of my natural arm motion while walking. Again, that says nothing about the clip itself as it functioned perfectly and made having my camera close and ready to grab, shoot and re-clip was great. For the price I don't think you can go wrong. It will likely remain clipped to my backpack shoulder strap and I'll use it often. Likely with a smaller lens though. It's super easy to install on the strap too and adjusts to a certain degree to the thickness of whatever strap you may be securing it to so no issues there either. ... show more
