  • Comfortable fit, great size/capacity, superior organization
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
This is a great little pack that holds a lot more than expected, while also being very comfortable. I haven’t had the chance to use it on a run yet, but have worn it out on several day hikes, commuted with it a couple times with a Macbook Pro in place of the water bladder, and used it at a couple of concerts/events, and have been very impressed and happy with it. Just wore it to a large block party in SF so I could carry water, extra clothing and outer layers, snacks, and some other small items I needed throughout the day, and could dance without needing to set my bag down and worry about keeping an eye on it. The multiple pockets on the frontside of the shoulder straps were awesome for keeping my cellphone, small wallet, lip balm, and tissues close at hand and easily accessible without needing to fuss with taking the bag off in the crowd. I wore it all day with a full load, starting out with a full 2 liters of water in the resevoir, and was surprised that even after a solid 6 hours of standing, walking, and dancing with it on, it was still totally comfortable and I had no soreness whatsoever in my shoulders or back, which is not typically my experience when wearing other backpacks in these types of situations. My wife was envious of my new pack, especially the easy access front pockets since she kept having to take her backpack off every time she needed her cellphone, gum, or something else small out of it, so I just ordered another one for her. Camelback has done a great job with providing lots of organizing pockets throughout the Octane 10 design. There are two small mesh pockets in the top of the large main compartment that are good for keeping protein bars and other small items in place without having to dig for them at the bottom of the bag, and a small zippered pocket on the side of the bag that has a key leash and can also hold a wallet and other small items. The side pocket is also fairly nondescript and the zipper pull hides up under the lid flap, making it less likely to be targeted/opened by anyone who may try to pick your pocket in a crowd. And the stretchy stuff pocket outside of the main compartment provides even more room room for carrying either a light sweatshirt/fleece, rain jacket, down vest, or other piece of outerwear that’s not too bulky. ... show more

  • Perfect hydration backpack for multiple use.
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
This is my go to camelbak for my 10+ mile runs, hikes, bike rides, etc. I’ve owned three kinds of camelbaks and this one by far is the most versatile. As the description described, you can pack quite a few things along. On my long haul days, I’ll fill the bladder full (once you fill it with water, don’t forget to turn the bag upside down and suck all the air out of the bladder to prevent that “slosh slosh” noise when you run 👍) along with packing my poncho, several protein bars, energy gels, salt sticks, my headlamp, mini first aid kit, a change of underwear (hey, you never know), extra socks, smartphone (i place my phone inside one of those mesh type pockets on the front shoulder strap) TP/baby wipes, my pepper spray and solar battery bank. This seems like a heavy load for someone running, but quite honestly the weight is distributed evenly on my back. The added bonus is the ease at which you can tighten or loosen the straps while you are in the middle of running. This is important for me because I’m trying for those PRs. As for fit and size, I’m 6’ 0” 195-200, I have brawny shoulders with about a 38 inch chest. I weight train frequently so I guess you would compare me to one of those farm boys who bails hay and eats biscuits and gravy every morning for breakfast. I don’t have any issues with the fit and quite honestly, I feel there’s even more room to expand out (maybe to the 275lb mark?). All of my items stay dry on the inside. There are multiple compartments inside that are separated, so if you need to keep your swamp butt underwear away from your clean dry items, you can. I also do a lot of night running. There are some nice reflectors on the back and front loops on the shoulder straps. There is also an additional front water proof pocket that is sweet! This is where I stow my energy gels, salt sticks and pepper spray for easy access. I love this camelbak and I’m sure you all will to! ... show more

  • Carry and Access Everything!
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
I started hiking in AZ last year. Since it was a new sport to me, I didn’t want to invest a ton of money in equipment that I didn’t know if I’d use again so I bought an inexpensive Water Buffalo hydration pack. It was “ok” for easy access drinking water and carrying a few extras in the back. However, anytime I wanted to access my “extras”, I had to stop to remove the pack. I needed some things front pack accessible (think phone) and wanted other items (snacks) also easily accessible. This pack fits the bill! My iPhone 12 Pro Max slips easily into the front elastic top pockets on one side, snacks on the opposite side and wallet/keys stay secure in the zipper pocket. The backside easily has room for your other day-trip hiking necessities (knife, first aid, packable jacket etc.). I almost knocked off a star because of the hiking pole attachment though. The pole attachments run down one side in the back and to access, you have to remove the pack completely. I want to be able to stash my poles and re-access them when need. Also, after attachment, the pack sits crooked on your body with the lopsided weight. However, I have folding collapsible poles so I just fold up my poles and slip them into the front, top shoulder loops so they’re held by the elbow of the folded poles - a much more convenient short-term option. I wish I would’ve found this sooner! By the way, even though this says its a man’s pack (and there’s a women’s version in a color that I didn’t like), this one fits me just fine. ... show more

  • Love this for my runs!
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
I have really enjoyed having this pack with me for my runs so far. Its pocket on the front is perfect for my S10 with a case on it, and the storage and water nozzle are very convenient. It does not add much weight to you while running and it's good to add a little weight anyway. The water is sealed very well and doesn't taste odd or look like any mold is accumulating at all in the pack even when left to sit for a week. I also feel like the pack helps to correct your posture while running as well if fitted properly, helping me to stop looking at the ground so much when I ran. The only complaint I have is that the tube does rub mildly on your neck while running and you'll have to adjust periodically if your shirt doesn't come up enough. (doesn't happen with all my shirts) ... show more

  • Beautiful, comfortable and roomy
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
Bought a couple chinese versions on Amazon but finally decided to get this. It's actually not more expensive as it included the water bladders. The color and materials are very nice and well made. After filling the water I throw in a light windbreaker, protein bars, sanitizer, keys, wallet, bug spray, and many many more.. :) for 12miles hike. However it doesn't have the lower strap so if I run on the trails, I need to hold it down. ... show more

  • Hate it.
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
I wanted to love this,I need a pack with a little more space than my Nathan's vest. I really wish Nathan made a slightly larger one but they don't. The good: bladder is so much easier to close and clean than my Nathan's. The pole storage is better too. The bad: the weight distribution is awful. It puts so much more pressure on your neck and shoulders I end up in pain and with headaches every time I try to hike with this pack. Even when I pack the exact same things I normally carry it still feels way heavier in this pack. I really prefer the elastic bungee system of the Nathan to the external pocket of this one, much more flexible for storing things you don't want inside the pack (wet shoes, etc). Also don't like the tube routing through the center instead of one side or the other and the divider in the bladder makes it hard to fill with ice and seems to hold less water than my Nathan's which is the same size. The back and shoulder pain are what really make me hate this pack, will continue to hope for a larger Nathan pack or search out some other option. ... show more

  • Fantastic Hydropack
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
I have no complaints about this pack. I bought it for trail running and OCR usage and it works very well for both. 1) This pack does not bounce at all once properly adjusted. It doesn't move an inch during runs up and down a local mountain at full speed. 2) It's really light despite the 2L bladder, storage capacity and stability. 3) I love the 2 liter bladder as it will keep me from exhausting it in longer Spartan Races and trail runs. 4) It has a huge amount of storage between the backpack compartment itself and the handy "snack pouches" on each shoulder strap. This means I can store things like a headlamp and my phone/keys in the back and energy gels and protein bars in the shoulder straps and I rarely need to remove the pack during a run even when I need to refuel. ... show more

  • Its Friggin great
Color: Black/Atomic Blue Style: 70 oz
pockets galore!!! its a great running pack and a great day pack for long hikes. on long hikes I can carry a full bladder of water, snacks, wallet, keys, phone, a lunch and a few other things while keeping it light as a feather. GREAT pack. only thing id add to it is a cover for the mouth peace so it doesn't get dirty on the ground when you take it off. but maybe that can be purchased separately. not a biggie at all. ... show more
