I replaced an older Camelbak with this and it was a great choice because it has enough storage and a 3 L bladder for long hikes. The material and zippers are very durable. So far, I have used it on 7 long hikes and it works well. Important note: I have read some reviews that complained about leakage. This happened to me on one hike, but I realized that it was due to my error of not sealing the lid of the bladder well enough. To check for proper sealing, it is best to invert the full bladder for several seconds to check for leaks. After the one instance of leaking, I have not had any other problems after being more aware of the potential sealing problem.

It’s been a great pak for longer bike rides, especially down here in the Florida heat. I will easily drink through the entire pak when riding just 25 miles one way, then I reload at a nice rest stop near the beach (they have a huge water cooler that everyone passing by can use), and then I’ll ride back another 25 miles. For water fountains in other areas, I’ll use my water bottle to collect water from the fountain, then pour it into the pak to reload it that way, so it’s still very helpful to have a water bottle on the bike since most places just have water fountains, not large water coolers with spouts. Don’t count on reloading your pak directly from an older water fountain, that won’t happen easily. I haven’t really put my helmet on the pak, it doesn’t make much sense to me and doesn’t seem practical. It’s more trouble than it’s worth. Maybe others have used the clips and like it, but I think it’s just a marketing feature, it’s not useful to me and it certainly isn’t very secure. The pak has also been used out on the West Rim trail and the Narrows at Zion (though I had to be careful and lift the pack over my head at some points since the algae blooms were in effect at the time, couldn’t let the narrows water touch the drinking water pack). I could never have done either day hike without the pak, especially part of the west rim, it starts just past angle’s landing at scouts lookout, and goes out to an overlook that very few people go to, which was excellent, except for the doe that ran by on the mountain side switchbacks. I’m just glad it wasn’t a mountain lion or that would have definitely been the last hike! It’s not like they let you bring protection into Zion! That day hike was just a solid 10 miles, and there is absolutely no where to reload on water, so the pak made all the difference for hydration during summer 2020 out at Zion. Great multi use hydration pak, but definitely only use it for single day hikes, you obviously can’t store much of anything in it!

I go to theme parks like Disneyland quite a bit, before buying this I used to have to either haul a big bulky backpack with multiple water bottles inside or would have to buy water in the parks (which is 5 bucks a bottle and can get quite expensive), this backpack I can fill it halfway with ice and dump 2-2 1/2 1 litre bottles of smart water and call it a day, it has great insulation (which I did not expect) and it keeps my back cool (from the ice inside) and is quite breathable, it also has enough space to fit my battery packs, my eyeglass case, lotion, sunscreen, lip balm, wet wipes, a pack of floss picks, charger cords and 2-3 bottles of soda/electrolyte drinks. the straps provide good support so the backpack is not wobbling all over that place and prevents your back from trying to compensate to stabilize it too much. I'm now thinking of purchasing another one of these (maybe a bigger one) so both me and my husband can have one while we're walking our merry way inside the theme parks.
