I love this jacket. I am old and spend a ton of time watching grandkids play sports. Finally a cute, lightweight, and WARM jacket. I wear layers, so purchased the XL first. Swam in it. Fast return for a ‘large’ and am thrilled. This jacket, along with long underwear, hand warmers, a beanie, jeans, and UGGs kept this old lady toasty and comfy tonight:). Now, looking forward to winter sports nights.

This is a nice coat, plenty of room for layering, but not too large. It does seem to pooch out a little in the front, but otherwise it fits well. You won't need to order a size larger than normal. I like the length - it falls above my knee and it will keep my upper legs warm in the winter. The double zipper is a good feature - I like to be able to unzip it from the bottom an inch or two for driving. The two pockets don't snap close (the snap is only on the trim on the outside of the pocket) but they are deep enough that things won't fall out. Another hidden inside pocket would have been nice, but the two pockets should be enough for me. The sleeve openings are big enough to fit around mittens or gloves and have an inner cuff that is elastic but not too tight. The hood is roomy and has a drawstring to tighten it around your face when the wind is bitter. The red is a nice wine red. We are past the coldest part of the winter, so I couldn't judge if it was warm enough for single digits, but it keeps me warm on 20°F mornings.

It's a great coat but I'm exchanging the L for a M. I normally wear a US M & ordered a L for extra room & a loose fit. It fits like a US XXL. I do like my winter coats bigger, but I was swimming in it & all that extra fabric would be cumbersome even with a sweater & hoodie underneath. The color is more of a deep wine than red, which is what I was hoping. The only reason I'm not giving 5 *s - the buttons on the pockets are actually functioning buttons, but they're literally just for show. There isn't another pocket under the flaps & the flaps do not do anything to close the actual pockets behind them. The pockets are pretty deep tho, so I'm not too worried about losing things. It will definitely keep me warm without having to layer up underneath & it's really easy to throw on - not stiff & bulky. Its actually really soft & comfortable. The sort of chemically, manufactured smell hit me as soon as I opened the PKG, but that seems to be the norm for mail order.

This coat isn’t that heavy but it is good for keeping you warm at 40+ degrees F. I will probably wear a heavy sweater under it if it gets colder. The sleeves are a bit long and it’s pretty roomy for a medium. I might decide to exchange it for a small. I am 5’ 7” and weigh 135. Also I got the maroon color but it’s pretty dark. I would almost call it a dark brown. It seems to be made well.
