  • Great for the price. Sturdy daybed, but not a good couch substitute.
Color: Castanho Size: Twin
This daybed was a great purchase for when our 9 year old niece and her 3 year old brother stay on the weekends. Our niece adores the bed and won't let her brother on her upper mattress. If you're an adult and wanting to use this, you probably don't want to be over 200 pounds, and then I would say it's not for a full-time option because it's just not as sturdy as a full-sized bed to me. It IS a good size and nice and sturdy for kids or smaller teens. It's plenty large enough. We paired it with an 8 inch pillowtop mattress for the upper and a 6 inch, less robust, foam-type mattress for the lower from a local Big Lots store so we could see and return the mattresses if there was a problem more easily. Good thing, because the upper one we first got had oil stains and had to be swapped. These sizes have worked PERFECTLY for this bed with no issues. An eight inch mattress on top leaves a little more than one full back and end boards exposed above the mattress, in case you want to fill that space with pillows for some back support during the day. Like some have said, the lower trundle is a bit difficult to pull out on carpet, but I'm a 200 pound man and have no issues. The kids can't do it but the wife manages. I prefer it that way, as the lower trundle stays exactly where it's placed without moving all about when it's under the upper or pulled out to use. We only pull the lower out about 2/3 the way since our little 3 year old nephew doesn't need the whole mattress really, and we are often reclining in a couch opposite this bed to watch late night tv as they fall asleep, & it'd cause clearance issues if fully out. The color to me (we got the "Castanho" finish) I find is close enough in color to some of our light oak and pine furniture to not be an eyesore. They didn't have the current white finish back when we ordered this in February 2023 I don't think. Only the Scandinavian Oak and Castanho. The finish is not super-tough, & we already have 3 or 4 scratches, but that's from the nephew tossing larger plastic toys around while playing. If your kids are not too rough, or if this is adult use only, you'll likely find the finish adequately tough. It does SMELL a little funny for about a week or so, but it's completely scentless after about a month, & that could have actually been from the packing materials to be honest. I found assembly easy, except for most people's mentioned requirement to pre-drill the holes in the mattress support boards. Otherwise, they will split I am sure. The support boards seem to be much cheaper spruce or pine and not very dense wood. You will find many of them warping in different directions. I laid them all out after the frame was assembled and separated the ones with the worst warping and used most of them on the bottom and near the far ends of the mattress. I figured this would have the straighter boards supporting the upper, most-often used top mattress better. The bottom mattress would normally have a smaller lighter child on it. The only REAL gripe I have about this daybed is it's almost uselessness as a daytime sitting option. I was hoping with the right cushions or throw pillows this would be like a second couch in the "sitting" room we have it in. It just takes TOO MUCH padding or pillows to pad the back to allow people to sit on this as another couch. Usually you sit on the edge with zero back support, or kids can sit all the way back with just their feet dangling off the side of the upper mattress. It's just really all about the width of the mattress and the bed frame. It's just WAY too wide to function well as an alternate comfortable sitting option. I now feel EVERY daybed that takes similar sized mattresses will be like this. Not really the products fault. But if you go thicker than an eight inch mattress on top, you will likely have ZERO chance of placing pillows towards the back to give ANY back support for adults witting on this as they'd fall off unless it's against a wall. Some people have said this bed is creaky and makes sounds like it's cheap. I have barely heard a noise from it except the occasional bang when a child hits a piece of wood while playing on it vigorously. Just tighten the fasteners adequately, but show restraint if you're a man (or strong woman) as you can definitely damage the hardware if you go ape on the tightening. Overall, I'd buy this again AND recommend it unless you REALLY need extra sitting space that's very comfortable for adults. Kids can manage. Nice-looking piece of furniture! ... show more

  • Great bed
Color: Castanho Size: Twin
Very pleased with this bed for our guest bedroom! Great bed, quality & price. We layer with lots of pillows & have it utilized as a couch when not a guest bed. It was very easy to put together with 2 people. Some reviews say it’s not very sturdy, the directions say to apply pressure when putting in support posts which we did and it’s very sturdy. I love the warm color of the wood. Love it! ... show more

  • Looks great...challenging to assemble
Color: Castanho Size: Twin
I love the looks and sturdiness of this daybed. It did take two of us a few hours to assemble it as the wooden pieces are heavy and need to be held exactly level when tightening screws.

  • Very Nice!
Color: Scandinavian Oak Size: Twin
I was very pleasantly impressed with this bed. For modular inexpensive furniture, it is fairly well made and easy to assemble.(Took about an hour). The trundle pulls quite easily. The only drawbacks are no locking wheels(can be safety issue) and hex screw assembly. For MY own preferences, I would rather have regular screw to be able to use powered tools to assemble. ... show more

  • Great Value!
Color: Scandinavian Oak Size: Twin
I've been looking for a day bed for going on 6 months. Found one I liked but it was around $840 and didn't ship for months, but was the mid-century style I liked. Not sure how I even stumbled upon this one, but SUPER glad I did. The look is similar, but what really sold me was the $340 difference and the great reviews. The package arrived this morning and with a little help I was able to get it upstairs (It's heavy and solid wood!). Close to an hour later the bed was fully assembled. The instructions were easy to follow and came with a few additional hardware pieces. I used a drill instead of the allen wrench supplied and breezed right through the assembly. The trundle was an added bonus for me as I wasn't looking for this, but it will certainly help with additional guests. Another review mentioned that a 7 inch mattress or less should be used for the trundle, so that's what I'm going to purchase. Overall couldn't be happier. For the price and the quality it's a steal. Buy it now if you have been hesitating. You likely won't find a better deal for the money! ... show more

  • Cheap product
Color: Scandinavian Oak Size: Twin
My grandson had this bed for 7 months and the side rails split. The entire thing is very cheaply made.

  • Camaflex Mid- Century Daybed with Trundle
Color: Castanho Size: Twin
Daybed came packaged well, all pieces were intact. Fairly easy to assemble with 2 people. Looks and feels sturdy - it is all wood. As other reviewers mentioned, the color is more on the orange side and not to my taste. However, I plan to paint white to match the other finishes in the room.

  • Overall it works, color is not as advertised
Color: Scandinavian Oak Size: Twin
Bought this for our nursery to use as a daybed and eventually toddler bed. We found the look is much better than other day bed on the market. The color, Scandinavian oak, is much more yellow than in ad pictures which is annoying. The assembly directions could be more concise, but overall 2 people were able to assemble fairly easily. The most difficult part was screwing in the slats. The trundle isn’t attached to the frame it’s just an entirely separate frame that rolls underneath. For now we will use it for storage but just to note that the trundle portion does require a thinner mattress. The wood is nice but it’s pine so it will scratch with simply your fingernail. The stickers on the wood were not easy to remove, we used citrasolv degreaser to remove them. The book ends of the bed are 3 separate stacked interlocking and they do make noise if you bump them which when used as a daybed definitely happens. Overall hoping this will meet our needs. ... show more
