If you plan to mount on the inside, please ensure your window-recess is at least 1/4 inches larger than the blind size that you purchase. Also, make certain that you have a 3/4" inches of depth/flat-space to install the mounting brackets or 2" if you want your blinds mounted flush with your frame.

I've hung many blinds like these from more expensive brands and these seem to be real close to those. Brackets and mechanics very similar. In 1 way these are better. These only require brackets to be hung, tilt wand attached, and that's all you need. The more expensive have a min of 4 more pieces to assemble. 2 end pieces at the top, 2 at the bottom of the blinds. Seems strange to pay more for something that requires more assembly. So far I'm happy. We'll see what facing the south side in the midwest does this summer. BTW, when they say room darkening, they mean it. Cuts the sun way down and in reverse, it cut bright room light to the outside at night. I'll update later on as to how they hold up. ... show more

    • It could use better instructions

I had to watch a video to see how to install. There should be a suggestion as to the distance from the edge to where you place the bracket. The video I watched said 1 7/8 inches and that was just fine. I did not want my blinds flush with the opening and so that was a good distance. The sticky tape could be stickier, or maybe they put more on, it is only about 1/2 inch. The first time I spaced the brackets evenly with one in the middle, part of the mechanism was in the way and I had to move the bracket. So look inside the mechanism to see the parts in there that you want to stay away from. If they could mark the bracket where it doesn't show might be helpful. For the money, they are very nice, open very nicely and just look nice, new and clean. I have different sized windows. It would be nice if the turning wands were the same size. ... show more

    • Nice Blinds but will get fragile over time

These are very nice blinds for the money. (I just purchased my second set). However, folks should be aware that the individual blades of the blind will get extremely fragile over time. I just had to take down the blinds I had over one window in order to do some work on the window itself. These have been installed in a window on the sunny side of our house for about 2 years now. In taking them down (and putting them back up) several of the individual blades have snapped right where the cords go through. Ironically, whatever material these are made of (PVC?), does not hold up well to direct sunlight over a long time. They get very brittle. Never-the-less, I am not unhappy with my purchase. Given the price, I have no regrets and have just purchased a replacement set. This window is largely out of the way so it doesn't get manipulated hardly at all. Hopefully, it will be several more years before I have to touch them again... ... show more

Built to last. Great finish and look to this blind. Well built and sturdy. Please be aware that there is no cord to pull up or lower this blind. Blind needs to be pushed up from Bottom or pulled down by hand.

Looking to replace a blind i was using for my bathroom cabinets due to fact that other cabinet doors would be interfered by bathroom shelving. I was using another type of bind and it was falling apart at the strings. Found this one and it was simple to put up. Extra bonus was that I didn't realize that it was a pull and push type of blind so it didn't have those cords most blinds use. That was why I was replacing the old one and now I don't have to worry about the cords being in the way. Also was exactly the size I needed for the replacement. I would purchased another one is ever I needed one. Maybe I'll look into replacing my window shades with this also. ... show more
