  • Not sure what all the hate is about...

I don't understand what all the whining was about - I love this game. Granted, I'm not a Call of Duty purist - I'd dabbled before, but Black Ops 3 was the first COD game I bothered to finish. Infinite Warfare has a very Battlestar Galactica (the remake!) feel to it, as you defend Earth against an alliance of breakaway colonies who are tired of being exploited for Earth's economic gain. The Good: - The characters are fairly typical for this genre, but still interesting and engaging. - The gameplay is fun and runs at an exciting pace, with a variety of missions ranging from space dogfights, to ship incursions, colony rescues, zero g combat, and even assassination missions. - There are numerous weapons to try - some familiar, and some more futuristic. - The story isn't quite as compelling as Black Ops 3, but still (so far) keeps the player's interest. Could be better: - The flight controls are weird, and I haven't found a way to change them. They are also not listed anywhere, so you have to work it out from prompts, which are not always forthcoming. Still, it's better combat than Battlefront. Although I don't really like multiplayer, I agree with many of the media reviewers that not including the dogfights in the multiplayer is a missed opportunity. - Some kind of modification to the HUD so that your compatriots can be easily found would be helpful - I seem to have a habit of wandering off during missions... - Kit Harrington as the lead villain... unless he's playing Jon Snow, the man just has no presence or charisma... it was an uninspired piece of casting. Overall: Had I paid more than $20 for it, I may not have been as pleased with this game. Alternatively, I suspect that had it not been branded as a Call of Duty game, but rather a new franchise, others might not have been as displeased with it as they were. I'm only a few missions in, but so far, I'm having a blast. I'm sad that the franchise is apparently over and we will be drawn back into the well-worn territory of WWII games. This is an exciting and fresh take - give it a try! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The game plays well, the packaging was good, and the disc was fine.

  • This game for whatever reason got a bad rap from the start
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
This game for whatever reason got a bad rap from the start. Its actually an amazingly well done game and I found it to be a time consuming fun game. If you don't like the jet pack aspect of the game then of course you are not going to like the game. Its actually a skilled aspect that people refuse to accept or work on for whatever reason. The game plays fast and its made for the COD rush style. The game definitely builds on what Black Ops 3 did. Its more Sci Fi based of course but continues with the wall running and jet pack aspect. Infinite warfare focuses more on the jet pack aspect with smaller maps to make it fast paced. The graphics are amazing and the input lag is definitely amongst the least with FPS multiplayer game modes. There are so many multiplayer game modes and Activision has done a nice job of creating events to keep the game as fresh as possible. I would give the game a try especially with the price drop. WWII will be released in a few months and I look forward to it. I just have a feeling Ill be still playing some Infinite Warfare once the boots to the ground aspect gets boring again. ... show more

  • 4.5 Stars, Zombies love, Multiplayer hate/love, campaign whatever
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
I really didn't expect to like this game. I bought it and played it and thought, "oh there goes 30 bucks down the drain." It's difficult to level up, the game mechanics are more difficult, and you can go 1 for 10 easily on Multiplayer even if you were good (like I was at Black Ops 3). But just like that, you get a fury kill and you're back in the game. That's Multiplayer in a nutshell. That being said, I think it takes longer to level up which might be better because there's more to do. So many more weapons, common, rare, legendary, epic, with perks with each weapon allowing more customization. It's less likely to buy your way to greatness because of how random it feels to buy a rare crate vs a common one. Overall, it's frustrating, but that much more enjoyable when you get in the zone. It just feels like less humanistic and more robotic. No voices in taunting, no faces like Seraph or War Machine. Zombies is a whole other story. I've never really played zombies this much on other CODs. But this one I love the Space and 80's feel to it. And running it with people online can create those intense in-game emotions that can break friendships hahaha. But this is it's saving grace and I can only hope their new maps will be similar. I can see why people hate this game, but I can see why people will still play it. It's advanced warfare so get used to that and really think aboutwhat that entails. Campaign is pretty cool, story is ehhh, and the environments are beautiful. But once you play it, there's no need to play it again. Lots of problems, but still fun and I haven't played BO3 since I bought this game. BO3 just got repetitive so there are things to look forward to in this game. Should you buy it? Yes and no. I rented it at Redbox first and don't feel like I really understood what I was buying even after renting it for 3 days. You're gonna need time to get used to the weapons, play zombies, and figure out what characters and perks you like. So my opinion is that you should take a chance, rent it for a few days and if you like it after playing zombies once, multiplayer for a few rounds, then just buy it if it's under 36 bucks. Good luck haha. I do like Black Ops 3 better but it got old after prestiging every weapon, and hearing the same three taunts from some specialists. ... show more
