  • Great game. Terrible delivery. Preorder = Do not receive product key in time for launch
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
Game Review: 3 out of 5 (updated for matchmaking issues) + Highly anticipated FPS with Battle Royale mode. Great! + Gameplay is fine - Matchmaking is puzzling at best. Their algorithm involving parties is highly suspect. My lower level party of 5 was frequently matched up with parties of high levels by several orders of magnitude, making the matches extremely lopsided and not fun. After decades of collective industry experience with matchmaking, why is this still an issue? Once we reduced the party size we were immediately placed in a pool of more evenly comparable talent. WTF? Physical Product Review: 0 out of 5 - Amazon sold a PC Game. It appears half the people were expecting a physical game copy with a disc. They got a physical disc: It is made of paper. It fits into your disc drive though I strongly recommend against running it. The other half of people (including me) expected a code, and got one, but definitely not in the medium that seems in any way logical. It came on a paper disc Shipping Review: 0 of 5 - Received a product key on promised delivery date. Good for Amazon. However, a product key should take all of 2 nanoseconds to deliver 12:00 AM of the day of release via electronic email delivery. I am completely baffled to NOT find a product key at midnight, thus missing out on the joy of being first in line to play. Instead, Amazon actually took the effort to send a plastic game case empty of everything except of paper disc bearing the product key. I received it late in the day. In the digital era of games, I think it isn't a terrible expectation that when one preorders a product code, it should be delivered instantaneously on release date. Or not! ... show more

  • This title is missing many core CoD components that make it a good game.
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
This is coming from someone who is a big fan of the CoD series, and I did play this one a lot to give it a fair try (I'm almost max lvl). This title is significantly different, and I feel like many of the core components that make CoD such a great game are missing from this title. I'll explain a few of them and a few other tings I don't like about this game that I believe ruin it. No Story mode - self explanatory. I feel like I spent full price on half a game. The good specialists get taken too fast - In each multiplayer match every player has to pick one specialist, a set of abilities that your character will have. Unfortunately, if the best specialists are already taken you cannot play with that specialist and you are limited to picking a specialist with the weaker abilities. No trip mine/bouncing betty/IED - Every other CoD title I have played has some kind of trap explosive that a player can place on the ground to kill enemies who walk near it. This title does not have equipment like this. There is a specialist ability like this, but no equipment. This is also the same with all other equipment like grenades, smoke bombs, etc. Instead of building your class with the equipment you get a random specialist ability depending on what specialist is available. No Kill/Death ratio - Every other CoD title will keep track of how many people you kill and divide that by how many times you die. This is a great way to track your overall skill and understand how you stack up to other players. This title does not keep track of this information. Instead it has EKIA/death. A player is awarded one EKIA every time they damage an enemy that dies. It's basically ((kills+assists)/Deaths). The game does not show you how many kills you get. This makes it impossible to really know how well you are doing as a player. No capture the flag - CTF is one of my favorite game modes, and this CoD title does not have it. Very disappointing. I feel like this CoD title is simply missing too much content. If you're looking to play a good CoD game I'd recommend the Word War II title. ... show more

  • It's still fun though. It's not a serious game
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
It's an okay game. A lot of layout changes make finding the info or stats you need a bit difficult. The game itself seems to suffer a little from hit detection and connection failures. Often, I fire at an enemy first, clearly seeing my headshot on them, only to be denied by them killing me almost instantly in normal Core mode, and that's with port forwarding. It's still fun though. It's not a serious game, but if you like to just run and gun, it'll do fine. The zombies modes are not as fun, and haven't been as fun since Black Ops 2. These crazy stories, Easter egg hunts, super modified weird zombies and creatures, and all these special powers, tend to have turned me away from this mode. All of the classics up until BO2 were fantastic and fun, when it was simple, and all you had to do was survive the longest. Now you're fighting water zombies and tigers in pseudo-Roman times. Weird as hell, but fun for a time killer still. Blackout... now that'd be really fun but is a huge issue as it is right now. You spend several minutes joining a game and getting a lobby ready, just so that you can parachute into an area where a bunch of people already are, so you can race to find a weapon first, only to die instantly. Entering a game of Blackout is basically just a 'dying simulator'. The worst is when you actually do get far into the game with success, after 25 minutes of surviving, only to die... and you get rewarded NO XP at all as the 7th man remaining out of the 88. I've played several hours and am only Level 2. Hardcore modes are pretty awesome, but there are game modes NOT included in it that are in Core. We need a Hardcore Hardpoint! Blackout should also be adapted into a Hardcore atmosphere for realism, since it's just a hide, collect, and camping game anyway. The Core mode games tend to take a LOT of effort to kill an enemy. The health bars are way too damn high. It takes about 6 headshots with an SMG just to kill someone. It's pretty ridiculous. The best method I found is to use the Titan with FMJ and FMJ Lvl.2. Then it becomes more like every other Call of Duty game, where damage is more normal, and a simple headshot ends an enemy. You can mid-range snipe with it using the heat sight, or just run and gun with an Elo or Holograph. Also, all of the maps in this game are remastered versions of classic maps from many different COD games, minus an original here and there. Nuketown recently just got released, but guess what? It's not in Hardcore! What is with this Hardcore neglect? No Hardpoint or Nuketown! Hardcore Nuketown would be one of the funnest maps and modes in the entire game! Still, it's a fun run and gun game, and still gets you hyped when you are on a tear, racking up those kills. I find much fun in it. Not to mention, on PC, there are an abundance of players, unlike when COD was on Steam, the Battle.Net app is the proprietary host of the game on PC, and you will get a match in any game mode, at any time of the day. That was always a huge issue with Steam, with players dying out and the game being unplayable. This time, it's worth it on PC. Console is still better for multiplayer aspects due to how much larger the community is, but PC is running just fine now. :) ... show more
