The Powerful 2. 0 HP motor operates at only 1680 RPM creating less noise and less wear. The SP Series of Ultra Quiet Air Compressor Motors have been designed to increase duty cycle and allow for longer continuous run times. The Oil-Free Dual Piston Pump System is engineered for high performance and durability. The CAT-20020 Air Compressor has an Oil-Free Dual Piston pump designed to have a life cycle before wear of 3000 Plus hours compared to other comparable air compressors with life cycles of 500 hours or less. The Oil-Free pump allows for use in a variety of temperatures (cold starts) and uneven terrains (no oil in the pump). The Easy Start Valve feature allows for a easier start up using less starting amps. The Easy Start Valve releases a small amount of air from the pump at start up to produce a no-load condition allowing the motor to spin freely. This no-load start up requires less amps for a easier start up in cold temperatures. Broken on arrival. 135 lbs. Delivered on time by 1 FedEx driver, lifting and carrying compressor on his back. Called California Air Tools. Eddie had me take pictures and send receipt. The Broken regulator was shipped and I had it replaced in less than one hour. Works perfectly now. Supper quiet. Half the noise as my old porter cable pancake compressor, 20 times the capacity. Delivery box was tore-up. The compressor had no damage or leaks [thank goodness]. Watched available [bad] videos just to see how to fix it...just in case. Got lucky. Time will tell now. Quiet and working. Good buy.

Love the low noise. Hate they drilled the holes for the wheels too big and welded the bracket unevenly. This made it necessary to drill new holes to properly fit the wheels and make the compressor not lean to one side. Also, the tank drain is a pain to get to.

I purchased this compressor a year back to replace the noisy Porter-Cable 6-gallon pancake compressor. I wanted something that can deliver a lot of air before the motor kicks in, but I also wanted something compact to fit in my small shop. This 20-gallon compressor fits the bill. It is quite compact at 20"L x 20"W x 45"H. I mainly use it for woodworking (pneumatic nailers, blow gun, die grinder, etc.). It works very well for those applications. In the future I plan to use it with an HVLP spray gun and I'm not expecting any issue with that. This compressor is very quiet (it's what California Tools is known for). Support is also excellent. My compressor had a small air leak in the manifold and they promptly sent out a replacement. So far I've been very happy with it. Highly recommended. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely love this compressor but after only a couple of uses the regulator started to act funny, no matter what pressure I set the regulator to it’s like it’s will run out of air even tho compressor is full

I received two of these compressors, both had the same problem. Air tank fills to pressure regulator gauge goes to pressure but when used pressure drops to zero after about four seconds. Customer service is tough to get a hold of, phone lines have been down for days. Sent multiple videos and emails, still waiting for some sort of resolution. Update: Eddie from customer service called and was very helpful. Sent out a replacement manifold which fix the problem. ... show more
