    • Pretty Good Light. Here how to fix connectivity issues.

Love this light. I’ve had this light for almost 5 years and never had a problem connecting with Alexa until recently. The CYNC skill no longer works with Alexa. Here’s how to fix the connectivity between Alexa and Cync. On your Alexa, say “Alexa, discover devices”. This will take a moment, when it finds your devices it will say something like “light found” then it will connect back to Alexa. Don’t use the skill. Have Alexa “find” your light via Bluetooth. Make sure your light is connected to Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth works by making you can control it by the Cync app. For other smart home devices, or if you need assistance. Go on the CYNC app. Click on Settings, then Voice, select from one of these options: Alexa, Google, HomeKit & Siri. From there, you will find ways to fix connection issues. I never had an issue until recently. It took me a while, but I figured it out. Hope this helps :) ... show more

I have approximately 60 smart bulbs from various manufacturers in my home. Most are CbyGE, because they strike that good balance between affordability (when you find them on sale) vs quality of light/color. These are no exception; they are miles ahead of FEIT in terms of color saturation and brightness. However, the app just rarely works as advertised, and support seems to be rather lackluster. And bear in mind, you will get ZERO dynamic control of these lights; no party scenes, no flashing colors, fades, etc. That's very disappointing given how strong competition is in this space. ... show more

    • The cync app constantly fails with Alexa and google

The app continuously goes down at least 20 times a day a disconnects with Alexa AND Google. It will try your patience. Imagine being disabled with thumbs that are not attached so they are useless, coming home from the store and asking Alexa to turn lights on and it says....every single time....c by ge is not available. Then having to put your groceries down in the dark find your phone go to the cync app and turn it back on just to get your lights on. Not worth the aggravation. Better to flip the light switch. My son got them for me for the convenience being disabled and the convenience of the app is severely lacking. Not to mention the horrible customer service and the refund I never received. This product works intermittently and all the reviews that I have read say the same thing. It will work about 90% of the time and then it will not link with Google. Trying to call either Google or GE customer service you really don't get anywhere they just talk in circles from somewhere India with broken English. If you buy it just be prepared that sometimes when you go to turn your lights off at bedtime. It won't turn them off so you have to get up and manually turn off all your lights. Again it's about 10% of the time that happens. I've only had to reset every light twice and two years. GE needs to get a better handle on this device communicating with Google nest hubs. My guess is whether you buy this or Philips or any other brand they've all got their glitches. 5 years from now that will probably be corrected when they come out with the newest versions. Strongly suggest doing the updates from time to time as that has seemed to help. All in all it's better than walking around turning off 11 lights. Price is Right for what you get ... show more
