  • 1yr review, amazing. Perfect for Tacoma trucks
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
1yr. Review. I bought this because I needed a tool box for the bed of my Tacoma but did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a metal tool box that would get in the way of a bed cover or my aftermarket bed bars, which all of the ones at the hardware stores would. I also needed it to be deep enough to fit all of my stuff which again, most of the ones at the hardware stores were pretty shallow. I found this and decided to give it a shot. First off, the box is plastic but is texturized very well and feels like really good, heavy duty plastic. Kinda like a pelican case but a bit thinner. I have no issues with flex or cracks even loaded down. I can literally sit on this no problem. The texturizing would go very well with many bedliners people have, very similar to rhinoliner or linex. The lid hinges are good, no issues with that. The lockable hinges on the front are standard ones you can find at a hardware store for crafts/sheds. They are metal but im sure you could break them if you really wanted in. Provide your own padlocks and get good ones. The lid is very thick and sturdy. There is a lip around the inside under the lid, when the lid shuts, this lip seats under the lid's overhang which helps against water ingress. I never had any issue with water going into this but just for peace of mind, I added some 3m weatherstripping to the lid so the lip sits against that when closed. Not needed but just for safe measure. Its pretty waterproof as is. Great case for leaving outdoors and in general I think its better than those metal toolboxes. Even has little hand holds molded into the side edges. Now onto retrofitting it for my Tacoma. I bought the 6.3 cubic feet one. Let me just say this is a perfect fit for the bed of my Tacoma. It fits perfectly widthwise. I drilled four holes from the inside rear so I can attach a bolt through the back and bolt it to my rail system in the bed. I bought t-slot nuts made for the Tacoma's rail system and was able to perfectly attach this to that rail with bolts going through from the inside. The height is almost perfect but because I am bolting it a little higher to attach it to my rails, I took two 2x4's and cut them about a foot length each. Then I wrapped them in rubber matting I bought at a home depot. I bolted the 2x4's through the bottom of the toolbox to position it a little higher so I can clear my bed rails and open the lid while bolted on those rails. This way, the weight of the box rests on those 2x4s instead of hanging a few inches short from the bottom and stressing the plastic. Literally perfect now. My ONLY gripe with this box is I wish the lid had some kind of mechanism to stay open. Because its bolted against my truck's bed, I cant open the lid too far. Might fit some struts on it to help with that. Overall, the best toolbox for these Tacomas in my opinion. Im very happy. ... show more

  • Perfect additional storage to my travel trailer
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
I used RV 4" Square Bumper-Mounted Cargo Box Support Arms to mount this to my travel trailer. I drilled through the bottom of this chest and used bolts/nuts to secure it to the support arms. Added enough extra storage to free up my pass through for items I access regularly while camping. This chest now holds all my hoses and leveling blocks for set-up and tear-down. Traveled over 400 miles (mostly interstate) with no issues and no leaking even though it rained a ton! ... show more

  • For the Price expected latches lined up
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
The item was exactly what I was looking for to fit the back of my truck. So far water has not leaked in which is nice. But, the right latch does not line up and you have to force/bend it hard to the left to get it secure which a bad quality control for the price. Plus it feels like it's about to break when I do it so I just don't lock down the right side. I paid like $135 for this thing and the latches are not lined up properly. I would return it but it's too big and I can't find a box to put it in. I can only use the left latch basically, is what it is. ... show more

  • Poor Quality
Size: 8.4 cu. ft.
Poor Quality! The locking hasp won't fully close without leaving the lid partially open. Obviously the locking hasp was not installed properly. The lid, when raised, will not stay open due to a short lid cable. Too expensive for this type of poor quality control. Do NOT buy!

  • Poor assembly, decent box if you don't plan to latch it shut or lock it. Way overpriced at $200.
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
On three different boxes shipped to me, the latch on the top section and the hasp on the bottom section didn't quite match up with the lid shut, As a result, the lids wouldn't close completely. In fact, it's hard to close both latches. So if you want to lock it, (a) it won't be waterproof, and (b) it's a major hassle to even get the latches engaged with the hasps. Not a one-hand job. Securing the hasp should be simple and should pull the lid down securely and tightly. Impossible to adjust the position of the hardware since they are attached (shoddily) with rivets. Had the same problem on the first one they delivered and the both replacements they shipped as I returned them. I finally gave up and returned the last one for credit. Obviously it is not being put together carefully. Nice looking box otherwise. But almost $200 ? Seriously? Even at the $120 I paid, I'd rather spend another $150 for a real truck box that is waterproof and locks and unlocks without major headaches. ... show more

  • Perfect box for my RAM 1500 with RamBoxes.
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
I love the look and texture, which matches my sprayed bed liner on my Ram 1500 with RamBoxes. Needed something to throw in extra non-essential stuff for work. Well built, but the latch system is horrible and probably will fail eventually. Its perfect for my needs.

  • Great added storage to my travel trailer bumper
Size: 2.6 cu. ft.
I purchased these to mount to my travel trailer bumper for extra storage. Works like a charm. Good product! Arrived promptly and in good packaging. Would definitely buy again.

  • Good enough for the price.
Size: 6.3 cu. ft.
The media could not be loaded. It isn't easy to find a box that fits snuggly in the bed without the overhangs that normally utility boxes have. This was the closest type box I have been looking for that will meet my temporary needs. In the video I went back and forth. The main topic I wanted to address is, if you are wanting this box for aesthetics and permanent storage for a nice truck this is not the product for that use. It is cheaply made, but for the cost it will do the job, eventhough I have a custom lifted truck I plan on putting it in temporarily to haul gear when needed. Hopefully the video will help when making a decision. ... show more
