I like the light. It looks spectacular, but for the average DIYer the install is gonna be an exercise in frustration. The instructions are rather lacking, and this fixture is pretty unusual with a lot of hardware to assemble. It took me several tries to figure out how to piece things together. It's great that the fixture offers mounting flexibility, but the instructions need to account for that. Let me save you some time if you are going with a fixed mounting post setup. The whole fixture needs to be assembled BEFORE connecting the wires to your junction box. 1) Run the electrical cord up through the light shade. 2) Find the long hollow threaded pipe and slide it down the cord and screw it about a half inch into the top of the bulb plate. 3) Now slide one of the black metal washers on top of the pipe with the flat side down, followed by the lock washer (spiked) and one of the two nuts. Hand tighten that so that the shade and bulb plate are fully connected. 4) Now slide the wide black tube onto the cord, followed by the other black washer (flat side facing up). 5) Push everything down flush and ensure that there is enough threaded pipe exposed at the top to slide up through the canopy. About 1/2 inch of exposed thread should be adequate. If it's too short, loosen the nut and unscrew the pipe from the bulb plate a bit. Then retighten the nut and lock washer and double check the length. Hopefully the photos help you see what I described. PRO TIP: This fixture is heavy and if you don't have an extra set of hands to assist on your install, that chain can be repurposed to help. I used it to hang the fixture from the mounting bracket while connecting the wires. Other Install Challenges Why only 2 wire nuts? Did they forget about the ground connection? The whole ground wire setup is odd and just poorly designed. Without instructions again it took some trial and error to make it work. Use the loop end to slide over the mounting pipe, then wrap it around the green screw, tighten and use a third wire nut (not included) to connect to the ground wire in your box. Honestly the wire is way too short to make this easy. You need tiny hands get in there. And here is one other gotcha to watch out for. Before you connect up the wires, slide the ground loop and last nut over the cord! Overall I do like the light. It fits my decor well, offers good lighting with 3 bulbs and looks excellent. I am using it to replace an ugly 80s chandelier in my dining room, that's actually my home office where I need the extra bright lighting delivered by 3 bulbs. Can't wait to see what it looks like with the Edison bulbs I ordered for it. But if you aren't patient and reasonably handy, expect an unusually long and frustrating install. ... show more

Final product is very nice, looks great and high end. Assembly is a nightmare, but I got it done! Directions are lacking. I installed this fixture as a replacement for a very outdated light fixture, so the wires and hole were already there, so final installation wasn't too bad.
