  • Well designed, thoughtful features, delicious coffee much better than older style autodrip makers
There's a lot I like about this coffee maker. In short, it is EASY to use, brews DELICIOUS coffee and is actually pretty FAST considering how it works. This is a relatively unique coffee maker given all the options out there. It's a great design conceptually and practically. I feel it brews more similar to a manual style pour over than how most basic coffee makers work. So far, I have been using basic bottled drinking water from the gallon jugs from the grocery store (as opposed to tap, even filtered tap, because we have pretty hard water) and it works very well with the the drinking water. I'm using the stack of supplied Bunn filters that came with the coffee maker and ordered more Bunn filters for when those run out. I grind my coffee using a Flair Royal manual grinder on a "medium" setting (typically around a "7" within the second rotation from the zero point, for those familiar with how that manual grinder works) and the coffee is very balanced with great flavors and easy to drink, even black. It's not bitter at all. The controls are very easy. Once you have water poured and a filter with grounds in place, you just hit the brew button and wait about 10 minutes. After it heats the water at the top, you hear a single dull pop sound when the water valve opens, the brewing starts and within seconds you start to see hot coffee dripping into the carafe. The actual dripping down of the water through the grounds only takes a couple minutes. If you only brew to "4" cup line on the carafe (about 2 average sized mugs worth) it's usually done dripping in about 8 minutes total but the machine will continue to say "brewing" for a few minutes afterwards. Some things to be aware of: 1. There's no auto-pause, so if you pull the carafe out while the coffee is dripping down then it will just keep dripping and go everywhere. So it's important to leave the carafe in place until the dripping has completed. Again, once it starts dripping you only need to wait a few minutes. 2. The lid is designed to come off very easily when it is in the VERTICAL position. Many reviews seem to complain that the lid "comes off too easily", but I'm guessing what is happening is they're raising the lid by blindly pushing it down with their thumb unaware that the little nubs holding the lid on have flats on them for this exact purpose - to allow it to come off easy when veritical. When the lid is down, and even partially raised, it is effectively "locked" into the handle, or at least prevented from poping out. You can of course raise the lid all the way without it coming off, but if you push up or pull up on it in that position it WILL come out easily. 3. Grind size matters. To get the best tasting cup of coffee, grind your coffee fresh to the correct size using a high quality grinder. If it's coming out bitter, it's likely that your grind is too fine. 4. At the beginning, you need to pay attention when you're lining up the basket and sliding it in. If you don't catch the lip of the basket on the sides then you could potentially not realize it and drop it. But, once you get used to sliding the basket in it's not hard to do. There's no tactile indication that it's in place other than you just can't push it any further. But, if you slide it back 3/4" it could fall out. So just be careful that it's seated fully before you let go! Specific things I really like about it: 1. The coffee tastes really great! 2. The filter basket is easy to clean. There aren't super deep ridges in it like most auto drip makers have. 3. Brew time is relatively quick. I think under 10 minutes for a couple mugs is great. 4. The carafe pours flawlessly without dripping thanks to the unique lid design! The lid does look a bit odd at first but it really works amazingly well at preventing the drips. 5. It's pretty quiet while brewing even when heating the water. Not a major thing but I still appreciate it. 6. For the money I haven't seen anything that brews coffee this way and I think it's a winning design concept. I recommend buying this machine. ... show more

  • Great BUNN performance with a timer
We've had BUNN products for years, and love the brewing speed and the taste of the coffee. Our others have been the traditional type that store a pot of hot water then release it quickly when a pot of cold water is poured in the top. This means you have a 12oz pot of coffee, less the grounds absorption, in about 4 minutes. Pouring it in is not a big deal to me at all, but, I always have wondered about power consumption and product longevity when the unit is constantly keeping 12oz of water hot. Our last unit starting leaking and I found this new version. It IS slower than the standard units as the water is heated when it starts, no hot water is stored. So if you want that 4 minute (after filling) pot of coffee, this is not for you. But with this model you can set a timer. To me it's the best of both choices as we almost always can schedule it to start and have coffee ready when leaving, with no effort in the morning. The coffee is still speed brewed in about 4 minutes but only after first heating the water up, which adds another 4 minutes or so. Set the timer to allow about 8-10 minutes of time before you expect to pour it and you're golden. The water stays in the top of the unit and sits until it's completely heated. You'll hear a small "thump" as a temperature release valve opens and pours the water into the filter holder quickly, just like the original models do. Even if using it manually, the 8-10 minutes is faster than anything else I've had, and you still get that quality brew speed and flavor that BUNN is known for. The carafe heater turns off after 2 hours which to me is also a plus if you forget to turn it off. Pressing and holding the brew button for a few seconds will turn it back on for 2 more hours. ... show more

  • Works to perfectly hot coffee!
This is by far, the best coffee maker! It will not grind your coffee and then brew it. It just makes the best coffee. Love the programmable feature though. This purchase was done in 2021, but this review is in 2026. It works like new, still. Why did it take me so long to.write a review!? Idk You will NOT regret this purchase. HOT, hot coffee! • A Great Coffee maker besides one minor issue
First off, I have to say Bunn knows what they are doing when it comes to brewing coffee. There is a reason they are in most commercial establishments for their coffee needs. As for this coffee maker, it works well besides one minor flaw. The first thing I like about it, is that it brews coffee at the perfect temperature. Coffee needs to be brewed between 195 and 205 to extract the flavor of the beans. This coffee maker does that perfectly. I measured the temperature of the brew to be 200 degrees, which is in the proper range. It might take a little longer to heat the water, but it's well worth the wait. If you put warm water in the reservoir, it will cut that time down from the normal 6 minutes it takes to heat it. After it heats, it brews the coffee quite quickly. The only flaw I've come across from the brewing process is that after about 2 weeks it leaks a little bit of water from the Coffee basket and drips a little down the side of the unit. Other users have reported this as well. From what I can tell it has to do with the spray head. It must not be spraying evenly down into the basket and it sprays the top of the basket and drips a little down the side of it and onto the base of the unit. It's not a lot of water, but it's annoying that you have to wipe it clean after every time you brew a pot. I have water that has a lot of minerals in it and I have to attribute it to that. It didn't do it in the first 2 weeks of usage, but I noticed it on or about the 3rd week. I'm going to try and clean the spray head with vinegar and see if that helps. I figured I could get a month out of it before I had to clean any part of it. Since I do have Heavy mineralized water, I will probably run cycle of Vinegar through the unit itself once a month. I called Bunn and they suggested I do this as well. I asked them if they had another spray head that I could buy and they said that the one that comes with the unit is the only one they have. Some other reviewer said you could buy a better head from them, but that is not true. I don't think it's enough of an issue where I can't live with it. If you don't have an issue with mineralized water, you might not even experience this problem. As for the Carafe itself, I have seen the complaints about the cover not staying on and the steam coming through it to burn you. If you keep your thumb on the top of the unit while pouring, this is not an issue. The cover stays closed and no steam escapes from it. That's why they have an indentation for your thumb to rest on. The cover does stay on when you are pouring if you have it on right. It's a little annoying to put it on and take it off, but nothing that would make you not want to keep the coffee maker. That being said, I dropped the Star rating down to 4 because of the minor flaw of the water slightly dripping down the side of the filter basket during brewing. If I can get it to work right, I would definitely give the 5 star rating. It does everything a coffee maker should and does it well. When it comes right down to it, brewing the perfect cup of coffee is all that matters in the end. So with that I would definitely recommend this unit, besides the one minor inconvenience. ... show more

  • Great coffee Maker....BUT!!!! Read my follow ups and year follow up......JUNK! EVERYONE HAS FAILED!
I did a lot of research and chose this coffee maker....it is highly rated....a very good price for the quality.....I had owned BUNN before and enjoyed them.....here is the problem literally 3 weeks after I bought it.....it would only make 1/2 of a pot....I tried to make another pot but again and it took over an hour to brew 1/2 of a pot and stopped. I sent it back.....Amazon had a 30 day warranty. I received another after about 4 weeks...(took to long) but oh well. It worked great. The day after the Amazing warranty was up the same problem.....I called Amazon and they said sorry you need to deal with Bunn your warranty is up. So I took a hard look at the machine and emptied the water out. I then gave it a light smack on the top. I unscrewed the removable sprayer and cleaned that part and reinstalled it......I then filled it up with coffee pot cleaner and it only dripped but soon it began working. You can hear the valve open when the temp was right.....Today about a month later same problem go up and only a half of a pot I followed the same procedure and it again began to work.......I think it needs to be cleaned often.....If you get one be sure to clean it once a month in order to avoid this problem. I do have very hard water. ***Update I have had this coffee pot for 4 months I have had to send the first one back.....the new one stopped brewing like the first one but stared working again..... the water overflows the basket....I switched to a different sprayer even though I don't use decaf or have soft water and it is still over flowing......apparently you can not use cheap coffee filters. You need to buy Bunn filters and they are expensive. This coffee make does make good coffee but there are issues that need to be fixed....the pots spout should be even with the outer edge of the glass so it is easy to empty all the water but it is not. The lid on the glass pot falls off all the time. Bunn should inform customers that soft water and decaf coffee needs a different sprayer and you are required to use Bunn coffee filters.....Bunn your better than this! *******REVIEW AFTER OWNING IT ALMOST A YEAR! Piece of junk! Nothing but problems! The first one stopped working....amazon took care of it sending me a new one....although it took a month to receive the replacement. The second one stopped working after 31 days.....Amazon said "sorry you now have to deal with Bunn". I gave it a thump on the top and it started working again. I have had constant problems.....It began over flooding the basket and there was coffee all over my counter.....Bunn said you have to use our special coffee filters. That helped not it floods over just once a week. Bunn coffee filter are expensive....thanks for not informing me! I got the low flow sprayer thinking that would help...now it floods over twice a month! I never know what I am going to wake up to......the pot it self is ridiculous......the spout is set behind the edge of the pot thus you have to turn the pot upside down to empty it......the crazy top on the pot falls off all the time.....I have owned Bunn coffee makers since 1989.......I am done with the company BUNN.......I will NEVER buy a Bunn product again. Save your money and by a Mr Coffee! *****UPDATE: Hate this thing.....It either over flows or you end up with coffee grounds in the pot. Nothing but trouble with this....BUNN you lost a life long customer. Your R&D should have done a far better job.... ******LAST UPDATE: After the replacement machine stopped working. I contacted Bunn. They sent me a new machine but I was responsible to send back the old machine.....The cost to mail it back was $56.00. I would have never allowed them to send the new machine....so much for the warranty! I am done with Bunn....after being a life long customer I will never buy their machines again. What a rip off. UPDATE.....After returning the first one....getting the second and now the second one is dripping water once it is filled......so again not working right.....it's going in the garbage! I AM DONE WITH BUNN. ... show more

  • Best home brewed coffee ever!
I’m so happy about this purchase! My wife and I are avid coffee fans. We purchase top-end coffees and have always shopped for the best coffee makers. We’ve gone from Ninja to Brevalle, Gevi and others, usually going with grinder/brewers, and they’ve typically failed pretty quickly. I took a friend’s advice and got a Bunn. I haven’t had it long enough to judge it’s longevity, but I can say it’s the best cup I’ve ever brewed at home! Might be the water temp, might be the spray vs drip dynamic, but all I know is that the simple cup it pours is richer than the “rich” or “strong” setting on the machines that claim to be better! ... show more

  • USA made. So it's very durable. Sexy design look USA made. So it's very durable. Sexy design look
Wished it didn't drip so much when pulling out coffee pot. You have to wait a few minutes longer for it to brew as it is, but then have to wait for it to settle enough not to run/ drip all on the burner. This makes a mess on burner, counter, and glass pot. But, it is designed to last, very nice to open up flap to pour in water, instead of swivel arm technology that breaks often. Heats up nicely if remained plugged in, does turn off in 2 hours, however all home coffee pots should turn off in 1 hour for fire safety, but the ones that do shut off all stick with same 2 hour. A lot of damage can be done in 2 hours with a coffee pot that is left on, especially the Bunn, that has a better heating plate. The program features is nice, perhaps it could be programmed to shut off too? Easy to clean, very durable, easy to clean, but always use very clean vessel to pour in water. Coffee quality is good, Bunn doesn't need so much space between pot and maker for coffee to come out as that does have a slight cooling affect as it moves through air to pot, but you can easily see when it's done, and you're able to pull out pot. It looks super slick; many people comment on it as soon as they walk in kitchen! ... show more

  • Another great coffee maker by Bunn.
Updated review: Purchased Jan. of 26, now four months later we are seeing little rust spots on stainless steel water heating disk. Bunn support said the machine is out of waranty because the date date code is 2022. Thier ansewr was (According to the information that you have provided, the machine you are inquiring about is no longer covered under the manufacturer’s 3-year limited warranty)?. We purchased in 2026, date code reads 2022, how long has Amazon had this machine? Although we are not expecting any help, just wanted say we are very disapointed. What I like is that there's no auto-pause, so no coffee dripping onto plastic top of carafe then into carafe. It is easy to clean, brews relatively quick. It's very quiet while brewing or heating the water. ... show more
