My wife and I both say this is the best coffee maker either of us has ever had. You get hot coffee fast, and it tastes much better than what you get out of a standard drip machine. Granted, it's a little pricier than a typical drip machine, but it's not overpriced and certainly worth it. Here are our observations: Water flow - The `product features' section on Amazon says it makes 10 cups in just three minutes. Our unit takes 4.5 minutes for 10 cups ... 50% longer than advertised, but it sure beats waiting 13 - 14 minutes like we did with our other coffee makers. Sprayhead design - Bunn says their sprayhead design improves coffee flavor, and it does. My wife, whose taste buds are much more sensitive than mine, says she immediately noticed the coffee did not have an acidy taste - that it was very fresh and smooth tasting. Side effect of the sprayhead design: The unit's instructions warn that if you make decaf coffee or use coffee that's ground too fine, the sprayhead will cause the grounds to overflow, even when using Bunn's taller filters. This happened to us (we drink a lot of decaf). The instructions say if this happens to just call Bunn and they'll send out a flow restrictor for free. We did that. Not only was their customer service rep very polite, she sent us two flow restrictors (one for a backup). Side effect of the flow restrictor: The flow restrictor slowed the process of making 10 cups of coffee from 4.5 minutes to 6.25 minutes, but I'm still not complaining. And, the coffee still tastes fresh and smooth, not acidy. Filters: The unit calls for using Bunn's tall coffee filters. With the overflow problem we ordered a bunch right away. But after we got the flow restrictor we found that even standard store-bought filters worked fine. That said, the Bunn filters have a much better quality. Carafe: Excellent design. No spills, drips, or dribbles, no matter how you use it. The carafe provides a nice, clean pour, every time. Important note: The Bunn operates on a different principle than your standard drip machine. Be sure to read the instructions carefully BEFORE plugging it in, as you have to fill the reservoir and let it heat up for 15 minutes to get the unit ready to go. That's a one-time thing, but the unit will be damaged if you don't do it. The instructions provided are pretty clear - just be sure to read them! This machine is a straightforward coffee maker. No clock, no timer, no programmability, no auto-off. But we're fine with that. This machine makes very hot, fresh-tasting coffee in relatively short order. I doubt we'll ever switch back to waiting 13 - 14 minutes for a pot of tepid, acidy coffee. We like the Bunn. It will stay.

In the early part of our marriage, we owned several different brands of coffee makers. Finally, we tried the BUNN brand. That is when our search for the perfect coffee maker was over. It’s easy to use, brews very fast and if you use filtered water, you rarely have to clean the internal parts. We’ve been fortunate as each of our Bunn coffee makers have lasted at least ten plus years! The enclosed booklet, as well the Internet, explains how to do the white vinegar/ water cleaning when needed. I’ve noted reviews where people complained about it not working right in some fashion or another and it’s more than likely they’re not doing it right. Just read the booklet that comes with it and it’s very self-explanatory and very easy. Also, some people were fearful about the coffee maker being a fire hazard. If they read the booklet, they would find that the coffee maker has internals built that will avoid such a catastrophe. We love having the bun coffee maker in our household and I opted again for white, as black shows dust much more than white just so you know. Order a BUNN. Once an BUNN - always a BUNN!

We have been using Bunn home coffee brewers since the early 80's and will not go back. The first brewer lasted close to 25 years before we decided to replace it. It still worked good but had a recurring leaking seal that was user replacable and Bunn custormer service provided the seal free of charge when asked so only a minor problem once every couple of years. Unfortunately the second brewer was not the same quality as the first and was actually recalled sometime in the middle 2000's and replaced for free by Bunn. Then the replacement brewer was recalled but this time we were offered a brewer "at cost" which we agreed to. Then in 2010 that brewer failed due to the plastic around the spray head cracking and falling apart (didn't check the warranty which would have covered replacement). Then a week ago that new brewer died with a power problem. We ordered a replacement from Amazon with one day shipping and put it into service this last Tuesday. Then I checked the warranty information on the latest failed brewer and found the three year replacement. I contacted Bunn to see what it would take to get a replacement expecting a hassel about "ship the brewer back and we will repair it" or something like that. Bunn politely took the brewer model and date code proving it was less than three years old, and agreed to send a replacement unit UPS ground. Only condition was a verbal agreement to return the broken unit at my expense. So now I will have two working Bunn brewers - one as a backup in case the new one goes out. Bunn customer service definitly gets a 5 star rating from me. I can imagine many reading this asking why I would give 5 stars rating to something that appears to have caused many problems???? My reason is the quality of coffee you get out of the machine plus the fact that you get it in less than five minutes - to me that is well worth all the hastle. Plus, considering we have only purchased 5 brewers over a 30 year period that is not that bad!

Love this coffee maker. I’ve always purchased the brand Mr. Coffee from Walmart or Target whenever I needed a new coffee maker. They have always lasted forever and I’ve only gotten new ones over the years because I wanted a bigger size. This BUNN coffee maker is literally the coolest. I’m a simple gal and I hate cleaning the coffee maker/pot. This coffee maker not only is super easy to clean, but it only takes 4 mins to brew a pot. I love that the hot water is stored in the machine ready to go at a moment’s notice. All you do is add your normal amount of water at the top which replenishes the stored heated water. The coffee basket is easy to remove by sliding out . You can wash the whole basket. It takes normal sized 8.25cm round coffee filters. I have a 700 count that I’ll probably never run out of... just kidding I drink coffee everyday. The spout the coffee comes from is also super easy to remove and clean. The only down side is that it does not have an auto shut off. I forgot to turn burner off once (There are two separate switches. One for the hot water that you never turn off and one for the burner.) and was gone for about 3 hours. The cup of coffee I had left in the pot... cooked and reduced to about a tbs worth of coffee. Not sure if it would have burned my house down or ruined the machine, bit a I’ll never do that again. Overall its a great, fast, easy to clean coffee maker for an everyday household.

Bunn makes a specific type of coffee machine and if you're buying this brand you're getting what they specialize at. I'm surprised at the negative reviews all over the place here because people simply don't understand the products that Bunn sells. Most people don't even know the brand unless they bump into a similar machine at their office or a gas station. Anybody that used one at the office already understands the basic principle of how these machines work. Yes, They are always on. It's suggested to leave them on. Yes they keep the water hot at all times in the storage tank. Yes there's nothing special about them, they are very basic. You go through the initialization process to get it set up and then you simply pour in as much water as you want to come out each time you make coffee. That's it. That's all it does. It keeps water hot at all times to make as much coffee equal to as much water as you put in.. closing the lid starts the brew and it's done real fast. The heating element takes about 15 minutes to warm up if you're going to turn it off every time you're done using it. It's not designed to be used like a Mister Coffee. Its design comes from a commercial design where it's expected that coffee will be made multiple times a day and nobody wants to wait around because they only get a 10 minute coffee break and who has time for the water to heat up? The basket is taller than most so use the Bunn filters. I found them as cheap as less than $2 for a hundred. Not here but look around. I stayed away from drip machines for a long time because I don't want to buy filters but when I can get a thousand of them for $16 I'm okay with that. That's like $8 a year. So far I've used a coarse grind and I've used a fine grind and I haven't had any overflowing issues with the standard nozzle. I'm not quite sure what people are doing to have a mess all over the place, either they don't understand how much water to put in or they're not using the right filter or their coffee is ground way too fine or something. I don't think it could possibly be the machine. Bunn does provide a slower flowing nozzle for people who don't understand the finer the grind the longer it's going to take for the water to get through it. I don't think that's a design flaw I I think that's a user error but I think they design that nozzle to save themselves the headache of having to deal with idiots. It's a great machine, read the manual, watch a YouTube video, learn how it works and enjoy it.

I had a friend recommend this coffee pot to me and then I also read the reviews. They were very helpful with the setup honestly - as it is a little confusing at first from your basic coffee pot. Bunn coffee pots are known for keeping the water hot before you brew, thus when you get ready to make your cup of coffee it is ready to go very quickly. But you have to make sure you follow the directions in full when setting it up. Make sure to fill the water level how it says to. The most confusing thing I had was the on/off switch for the first time (I just couldn't figure out which direction was on and which was off, but after I got that straight it was fine). You open the lid on top (which while it is open keeps water from coming out below - no idea how that works, but it does). You will fill it up completely, put the decanter underneath, close the lid, and turn it on. You then let it heat for at least 15 minutes before trying to use it. Once you want to use it you fill your decanter up to how many cups you want - pour it in the opening leaving the lid up of course. Then put the decanter underneath and close the lid. As soon as you do that it starts sending water out into the coffee grounds and into the decanter. It's honestly super fast. They also recommend using warm or hot water when you pour it in. I am very happy with my purchase and the coffee tastes great!

We have used Bunn for 15 years without a problem, unfortunately, it developed a leak. Our new Bunn arrived yesterday, and we are thrilled. What has impressed us is the simplicity, the speed, the long term longevity, and the great coffee it brews.
