When first charged up and turned on, it makes really loud chirping noises and has flashing lights. It moves really fast, even on low, but because of this it does work on carpet. After a few minutes the chirps and the lights stop and it’s just moving around like it’s drunk. My cat liked at first, but after it continuously ran into kittys legs she got over it real quick. It does reactivate but sensing motion, but that means simply me walking by will set it off again. My cat is more fascinated with this than chasing it. She has turned it on herself a few times now and just sits and watches! The only draw back is that it needs to be recharged a lot if you use it a lot. It’s very easy to do though.

The media could not be loaded. I am super impressed with this toy! I recently adopted a 2 yr old brown tabby cat from the shelter, and he has been very needy and wanting attention. If I ignored him, he would start chewing on cords and getting into everything until I played with him. So, I searched for automatic toys that would keep my boy busy while I worked from home or cooked. I found many options, but this product stood out to me for a couple reasons. I appreciated that it could be used on both carpet and hardwood, and I liked the combination of laser, feather, bird sound, and mouse shaped movement. My cat has been so mesmerized by it, and it has been a lifesaver as a distraction. My only issue is the battery life. Even when it's fully charged, it doesn't seem to last longer than about an hour. But it also does charge back up quickly. I only let him use it a few hours a day, and the instructions do note that it shouldn't be left out all day. I would also like to note some reviews said it only goes backwards. This is not true; it goes through a cycle of different motions. My favorite is the full circle. Note: The toy comes with an extra feather tail and a USB plug in cord, but not the adapter that goes into the wall. Luckily, I was able to use another universal USB adapter to charge it. None of the feathers fit. Only goes backwards. I’ll be asking for a return. UPDATE: The instructions were not clear as they were translated to English. After experimenting I was able to get the feathers to work and to get it to do more movement. I still recommend the instructions be improved but the device is keeping my cat interested. ... show more
