This Bulova Precisionist 98B228 model is a masterpiece. It is beautifully crafted and oozes quality and precision. The Bulova 98B228 is a beefy, robust timepiece and while it is on the larger side, it is not excessively so. It is a perfect masculine size for the bigger guys - nice and heavy yet superbly well balanced. The watch is replete with functional and decorative complications and details, which in combination makes the face, case and band strikingly intricate. This watch sports perfectly polished components, which are tastefully mated with brushed and gold plated elements. The textural trifecta coupled with the gracefully curved crystal coalesces to form a lavish, lustrous, light catching work of art for your wrist. The 98B228 is extremely accurate (<1 second per month). When you unscrew the crown and open it to the last detent to set the time, the second hand zeros out. By simply pushing the crown inward to time sync (like depressing the pusher on a stopwatch) the time will be set to the split second - fantastic. My 98B228 currently matches the official NIST clock to the second at the time of this review. The calendar is not perpetual, but I have no issues with changing the date five times a year. This watch and the other models in this series are a great value. I really love watches, but I do not understand spending thousands of dollars on a single one. I fell in love with this Bulova - so much so that I've purchased two other versions of the top-level Precisionist. All three together cost me less that 1/3 of a Breitling or low end Rolex!! This is how it looks on a 19.5 centimeter wrist. Appearance: This watch is elegant, heavy, sporty, and has a construction far superior to the price set by the seller. It kind of feels like a $2,000 - $2,500 watch. It looks really good with a white gold chain. If you like/enjoy attention, this watch is for you. Precision: The watch has not lost a single second since I bought it. Its precision is somewhat shocking. It beats all my watches, which lose or gain onw or two seconds a month. That is to say, the accuracy of this watch is competing with a smartphone. I'm impressed. Size: If you are a fan of sissy watches, this watch is not for you. Personally, I'm not a fan of small watches. Small watches are too "effeminate" for my taste. So, if you have a small wrist, this watch will look like your older brother's watch on your wrist. ... show more

Absolutely the best watch I’ve ever owned. I set mine to the world clock to best gauge accuracy. This watch is a true statement piece and grabs attention. The two tone look is of a luxury accessory that complements and balances white gold rings and silver necklaces.

Over-all, a very good looking watch & keeps time well. A lot of reviews mention that it is a large watch and heavy - it is, be ready for that if you decide to purchase the watch. Some things I wish had been made more clear in the description. All 4 sub dials are dedicated to the chronograph functions, there is no AM / PM sub-dial, AM / PM is set by advancing the minute & hour hands., while watching the date window, when the date window moves to the next digit, that means the watch was in PM mode. ... show more

Big, bold, beautiful. You have to be confident to wear this bad boy! Love the sweeping second hand and the way it fits. My wrists aren’t that big but this watch sits perfectly. It doesn’t feel heavy or bulky like an Invicta will.

I owned this model and brand of watch several years ago and it was lost along the way of life. I think it was stolen but if it was they got a great watch. I never got around to replacing it until now when I saw the sale price I thought well now’s the time to replace it. Super glad I did. I own over 40 + watches and have my favorites but by far I like this one the best. In my opinion it’s got style,awesome design and fits my wrist very comfortably. It’s not my most expensive watch nor my cheapest watch but I just love the design and fit. If you like a larger watch this may be for you . There are various choices and colors to choose from in this model and the gold and stainless steel was my favorite but I really like the gun metal and black chrome styles as well.
