I purchased these lights with a controller and transformer. I was informed by email by the manufacturer that I purchased the wrong controller for my lights. They recommended a different controller that was cheaper. I’ve purchased the correct controller and tested the lights. Turned out two lights on the string wouldn’t turn off and stayed on. The media could not be loaded. I was able to use this with some aluminum channels to permanently mount this under my eaves to show holiday lights without putting them up then taking them down all the time. The 12v made it possible to have longer runs without power injections. The strip is solid and well sealed from the elements. I was able to easily custom cut and solder this strip without much practice. I had an issue at first with this strip, but after contacting BTF they helped me figure it out too. ... show more

Update: I'm updating my review after completing the project. So soldered all four strips together and protected joins with silicone and clear heat shrink tubing. Replaced remaining flat cables ends with 18awg round cables, silicone and heat shrink tubing. It required some work, but since there is nothing like it available in the market some modification was expected. The end result is fantastic! 60ft of addressable led strips around the pool with only two power inputs. I bought 4 of them. One of the strips didn't have enough silicone on the ends and water got in. The design with a 4 flat cable makes it difficult to seal, I will recommend adding some extra silicone and heat shrink tubing to make it water resistant. Two others strips developed a bad led each after only few nights of use, so let's see for how long they last. ... show more

now these are the real deal. controlling them with a wled board I was able to map them to resolume. Game changer. I wish they were 10$ less but non the less awesome. I will probably be buying another strip here soon

The media could not be loaded. Overall 4 star because of controllers, waterproofing method, color reproduction Awesome upgrade to camper awning with some effort. You have to really read model numbers and capabilities closely. This one has individually controlled pixels with color. White lights are not ideal. In between colors are not ideal. Certain colors next to each other don't work. Red white blue can sorta be created using a light blue for white. Tuya smart app is limited to 20 pixels 20! So 300 pixels becomes 15 LEDs to a larger pixel. You can get decent variations with movement lighting as displayed in video. App allows settings for automation, time of day, precip, temperature. Note: The waterproof exterior is larger then default LED channel on campers. I used zip ties every 6" to keep in place. I recommend adding a dab of sealer on ends of strip. Controller was placed in waterproof box near top of awning and works well. ... show more
