This unit works very well. It is functional, easy to use and does heat several gallons of water quickly. The included immersion thermomotor is a nice, and useful, addition. As is true for ALL immersion heaters, make sure to use it safely as noted in the included directions. In this regard, the image of the women enjoying a hot bubble bath might lead some people to misuse this (or any other immersion heater) incorrectly. The instructions clearly show that there is a risk of a shock by doing so. This unit has a shut off set (according to the mfg.) of 165 F which is a nice safety feature. It is also easy to clean. Not sure if it's worth losing your house.

I am surprised that this received as many good reviews as it has. Don't get me wrong, it does do the job of heating up water. In fact, in about 2 hours it heated 700 gallons of water from 75* F to 82* F. For that I am pleased. BUT I am unsure if it's supposed to burn out the socket you plug it into. Lucky for me I had it plugged into a power strip. Completely melted the outlet it was plugged into. I moved it to another available outlet on the strip and that too melted. I only had an LED light plugged into this power strip and luckily I used it cause I would have had to replace my wall outlet had I bypassed the strip. It hearts up a whole bathtub in like 15 minutes

Ok so at 1st I had left a bad review. MY BAD! I hope it didn't affect the seller. Cause it was my fault that it wasn't working. I didn't realize till yesterday that it was tripping a gfi breaker (or something like that) which is why the thing never warmed the water up! Totally my fault. I ended up connecting it with a very heavy duty extension I have that exceeded the voltage or whatever needed and I had a hole bath tub hot! Which was actually not my intention. You see this was a temp fix to my water heater breaking. And I put this thing inside a bucket. Working properly I knew it could boil that water and I had filled the bathtub too so I could just pour the water right in. Well in 15 minutes it did boil that water in the bucket and since the bucket was in the water it got that water boiling hot as well! It was all bubbly and thankfully I could add a bit of the icy cold water from the snowy state Im in. So yes this thing does heat but you have to have it plugged into the right outlet. Otherwise it will trip the breaker which it is stated that it's a high output! So it's not like this information is hidden. This seller is straight upfront. ... show more

I'm not sure if my product was defective but it took hours to heat 50 gallons, from a warm day hose and several back and forth trips with boiling water.

It works , heats up in about 3 hours a kiddie pool. The only thing it burnt my extention cord to the house connection it was really hot and burnt looking scared me a little bit. Just incase bought a new extention cord and will try again to see if its the heater.

This unit actually works as described. I fill my horses 5 gallon buckets with water set unit in bucket, start cleaning barn and within 5 minutes the water is warm. After water warm I pull unit out and unit is not hot like I expected. Wish I had found this unit 25 yrs ago, water buckets are so expensive, my horses/ burros drink while coming up to barn for the night. Water won't stay warm but if your animals drink after warming this is a game changer.Unit extremely well made with size that fits sideways in bottom of 5 gallon bucket. ... show more

Poor quality. The black tip on the end came off when I took the plastic off. It has been used twice and now has stopped working. Took a really long time to heat up. Not as advertised.
