  • Works as advertised.
Style: 1700 lb Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
The magnet has worked as advertised! We have taken it out 4 times now. The case, rope, and metal carabiner are made of durable materials and seem like they will hold up well. The gloves are typical rubberize palm work gloves and do help prevent rope burn when throwing the magnet and provide a sturdy grip when pulling the rope back in. You can feel the strength of the magnet when it locks onto something in the water and when trying to pull smaller objects off of it (got a break caliper on it and it took about a minute to work it off). I like how the design of the double sided magnets. It allows the full string of one side of the magnet to be pulled face down over the bottom. The magnet stuck to a large 4 foot long, curved, 1 inch thick round tube bracket on our first outing on a bridge. Because of how the bracket was shaped, only about a quarter of one side of the magnet could connect. It probably weighed around 25-30 pounds and would fall off right before we could get our hands on it. We were able to lift it out of the water and get it to the side of the bank with the small area it was able to attach to. If there would have been a place for the magnet to attach completely to the bracket it would have definitely been able to pull it all the way to the top of the bridge. I would buy this setup again! There are stronger magnets out there, but for the quality and price this kit is hard to beat. There is one small drawback that is hardly worth mentioning. Sometimes the metal carabiner will get stuck to the magnet. Usually a quick yank on the rope will free it though and it is not really much of an issue. If an aluminum carabiner was used, that was the same size, it would prevent this from happening, but it would also sacrifice some of the carabiners strength (though I think it would still be plenty strong). Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Great kit!
Style: 1000 lb Single Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
My husband and I decided to give magnet fishing a try and after a lot of research we started with this kit. We weren’t disappointed! The magnet is powerful, the rope is sturdy and strong and the gloves work great. I highly recommend this magnet kit!

  • Is This Really 2700lb?
Style: 2600 lb Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
After looking through many reviews I thought I was safe buying this magnet but honestly I'm not impressed. I took this to a local lake and only picked up some odds and ends (hooks, bolts, washers) which is fine but they came off very easy compared to what I felt a 2700lb magnet should pull. I did some tests with a knife before going and was able to pull it off somewhat easy and should have returned it and went a different route right then but didn't. I wanted to take it out and give it a chance and after the first toss it was already scratched bad enough I wasn't sure I would be able to return it but wanted to give it a chance and by the 3rd cast it looked like it was cracked and like something you would pull up that had been sitting for years. For the cost I'm curious if a board with 2 dozen 250lb pull magnets might be a better option or maybe I just got a weak magnet to begin with. ... show more

  • Possibly the best thing I’ve bought online
Style: 2600 lb Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
I’ve bought countless things from online retailers. The Brute Magnetic Fishing Kit is quite possibly the highest quality with a great price item I’ve ever bought. It’s uncommon to be surprised by high quality, heavy constructed items that were clearly built to last. During its first use with my 7 year old son, I couldn’t help but think how this kit could last long enough that he could use it with his son someday. That should speak for itself. ... show more

  • STRONG
Style: 1700 lb Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
This thing is strong. The day it arrived I was so excited. I went down to my boat dock to try to retrieve a chain I had dropped, I nabbed it first try. I was playing around with it, throwing it out to see if I could find anything interesting, and got distracted which ended up sticking it to the metal frame of the dock by accident. I was standing on the side of this thing jumping, trying to get it to slide down and off, no luck. I finally had to duck my head in shame and call my husband to help. After a few minutes of laughing at me, he arrived and wrapped the rope around his waist and pulled back with all 250 lbs of himself while I held a 2x4 against it and used a hammer on the end. We slowly, centimeter by centimeter, finally got it to drop off into the water. It took us at least half an hour. I can’t wait to take this thing magnet fishing, I’m just going to be WAY more careful when pulling it back up out of the water. It’s an awesome magnet. ... show more

  • i caught a bridge with it, seriously
Style: 2600 lb Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit
i bought a 2600 lb magnet fishing kit as a way to go enjoy the outdoors with my girlfriend. first thing we did was take it to the lake, on a steel fishing dock and after playing around with it, i became skeptical, thinking i got ripped off. I tested it against the frame of the fishing dock, but i could only find a section of angle that was half the size of the magnet to test against. bracing my feet against the dock, i yanked the magnet free. i felt a bit cheated, but continued fishing. the day wrapped up, we headed for the car and as we walked across a pedestrian bridge (all steel) i got a wild idea, “i wonder if it’ll stick to the bridge framing”, as the square tubing of the bridge that i was looking at was clearly larger then the magnet. Right as i started to put it to the framing, I heard my girlfriend start to say “baby you might not want to do that, “CLANG!!!”. Too late. Holy smokes, it was on there, like really flipping stuck. it wouldn’t slide or pull free, it was stuck. we spent nearly an hour sweating and bending a cheater bar trying to free it. several times we considered leaving and coming back with better tools to remove it. it’s a 2600 lb magnet and if it flatly sticks to a large steel object, IT. WILL. BE. ON. THERE!!! the only thing i caught that day was a bridge and i couldn’t take it home with me, HAHAHA ... show more
