I bought a whole bunch of Displates in the largest single size and waited forever to install them since I knew the included magnet backing would not hold over time. I finally bought these round 100lb magnets, along with some 80lb bar magnets (to mount a Displate on 2 studs when it's between studs). These 100lb magnets are perfectly finished, durable (use hand tools and common sense), and 3 of them spaced 6 inches apart on a stud is perfect for mounting the largest Displate size. The included screws were tossed in the parts bin since they can't be used for mounting through drywall into a stud. Go buy some #6 1-1/2 in flat head Phillips stainless steel screws at your local hardware store. They fit these magnets perfectly and sit flush without the head protruding. Don't use standard drywall screws as they will protrude and scratch your Displate terribly when sliding into place and removing.

Strong magnets, amazing for their size. People say they break easily but none of mine have broken. I place them with super glue, then I screw them in, not too tightly. Also, I don't use the screws they came with. I use a size smaller (about a #6 flat head. The original screws have a scratchy surface and going down a size prevents any contact with the rough bits.

These magnets are powerful and useful for so many things —if you think you need 15, then buy 30. Handle them as prescribed; it can bite you .so useful and so many places. Do not let kids play with these and separate them by sliding-

These are pretty strong, and I like the option of being able to put a screw through the middle. I tried to attack them in place because we couldn’t use a screw, but it didn’t hold. They are thicker than I expected. I’m really looking for something thinner, but strong

Strength is great, but be careful when using them as if you let them go near ferrous metal uncontrolled, as they attract with such force they can shatter themselves.

Magnetic Buttons work great for use on my 3D printed projects. They are strong and hold tight. The screws are a bit long for my needs. I had to grind them down a bit. The screws are of very hard material. All in all these are great magnets and well worth a full five stars!

I got these to use in making a small kitchenette unit for a camper-van. I use the magnet to hold both drawers and doors closed, to prevent them from opening when driving. I screwed them to the rear panel of the drawers and put a 3/4" strip of mild steel down the back wall of the cabinet for the magnets to cling to. I set them up to fully contact the steel. They hold quite well, well enough that you have to give a good pull to get the drawers open. Not strong enough to self-close the drawers (a lot of people have asked about that), but more than enough hold to keep the drawers tightly closed even on rough dirt roads. The holes in the center of the magnets make them easy to install with phillips-head wood screws. Be very careful tightening the screws as the rare earth magnets are quite brittle and will shatter if you get the screws too tight! I bought a second set for another unit, and will be buying them again.
