It is an ideal choice for those just starting out because it is slow-growing and tolerant, the Chinese Elm allows beginners plenty of time and forgiveness to grow accustomed to bonsai care making it one of the most loved and most undemanding of miniature trees. Honestly, Brussel's Bonsai is the absolute best place to buy Bonsai. That's it. If you care to know why, and the pictures I have aren't obvious then read some more. Brussel's Bonsai not only has the best prices you will see ANYWHERE, trust me i have check every bonsai seller online, but they also include FREE shipping, they sell on amazon, its super duper fast, and to put the cherry on top (most important) their trees are absolutely stunning! Every tree in my pictures is from brussel's (except the little ginseng thats on my bookshelf, i got that from ikea and repotted to make a bonsai). If you see any review lower than a one star do NOT believe it. Brussel's has excellent customer service, so if you aren't happy or your tree is dead on arrival (not a few weeks or months later because you don't know how to take care of a bonsai) then they will happily assist you. I have purchased bonsai from a few other places, most charge INSANE shipping costs that would double any prices you see online not including tax. Brussel's is by far the best and only place to shop for bonsai. Now keep in mind you need to know how to take care of each plant, its very very easy but only once you know how to keep your plants alive. Also each species of bonsai is different and requires different care. Please do your research! In case anyone is curious. Permanently Damaged Tree

The Elm arrived in very poor condition. Many bugs in the soil, VERY deep marks about halfway up the trunk where it looks like the tree went through years of stranglement, and with several dead branches. The tree was in a nice pot, however upon removing it from the box, I found that the only reason the tree had stood up straight was because it was packed in a box full of packing peanuts. The roots mass was so small, I had to wire it into the pot. I've since trimmed the dead branches, repotted, and really inspected the tree. I would not recommend.

First time buying any type of plant online. Straight out the box, I was happy with how well it is prepared for shipping. I am extremely new to bonsai but at my first glance I can notice LOTS of new growth and freshly trimmed branches (pictured), but also some heavy markings on the trunk from shaping it. Even though the tray is plastic, I believe they were quite generous in choosing a nicely sized plant for choosing that option.. (maybe). In conclusion, keep in mind these may be grown in large numbers but they are very fair-priced and fair-quality compared to other sellers who I’ve seen so far in my experience.

Internet bonsais are never like the advertised photo. This is one example. But I'm happy with it as it looks healthy, even with new appeared growth. I'll never be able to achieve the bend in the stalk. But it appears that it has been taken care of, and I'll continue doing so. It's CUTE.
