If you've never flossed with black floss, you're missing out! Once you give it a try, like with this Brushmo Black Floss Expanding Woven Dental Floss (SOOTHING MINT; 1 Spool: 55 yd), you'll realize that even though it seems weird to use black, it actually makes way more sense. Sure it's going to be gross seeing all that plaque & food bits show up on the dark threads, but it'll definitely motivate you to floss more often. I have some loose areas & some super tight areas between my teeth, and this floss seemed to glide thru each space with no problem. The only spots I had a bit of shredding were a couple of my back molars, so I almost took off a Star for that, but it is shred-resistant not shed-proof. You can smell the mint while it's in the case, but I can see why they called it soothing, because it wasn't a strong mint scent/flavor while actually flossing. Do love that they have a chart on the back that gives you an idea of how much floss you have left for an estimated length of time, because there's nothing worse than trying to get a decent length of floss & realizing you don't even have enough to wrap around a finger. Give black floss a try! Once you go black, you'll never go back.

I'm a big believer in flossing, as anyone who's listened to me extoll the virtues of the practice can tell you. The health benefits go way further than simply getting rid of bits of food stuck between your teeth. It may not be for everyone but I floss every night, enjoy doing it, and highly recommend it. With that said, I was excited to try a new kind of floss. The most noticeable thing about BB Floss by Brushmo is in the product name. Whereas most floss is white, this is black. The box touts the bold color choice for making it easier to see and well it makes sense to me. Why is white the default floss color and the default sock color, for that matter? Anyway, I was pleased with this floss' results. It's a little thicker than what I'm used to but still worked easily and efficiently, with dramatic results when using it after a meal without brushing. The hardest part was figuring out how to open the case. I'm definitely a fan and will enjoy using this for the full 55-yard roll, which kindly has some milestone markers on the case to calculate when you'll need a replacement.

This is a decent floss. It works well and my teeth feel clean after using it. The black does help highlight how much you are getting out of your teeth. The mint flavor is very light, almost unnoticeable. I have also noticed that the floss does seem to expand a little, which is great for wider spaces between teeth. The only down side I noticed is that if you have tight spaces between teeth, it can be difficult to use. I have a space where my teeth are tighter together and it was difficult to work the floss through my teeth there. It stuck, shredded a little, and was hard to get it through. Every other space was okay, and the floss was nice, but I prefer my regular floss for the tight space.

Very impressed! I've been using a similar expanding floss for quite some time and yet I don't think my teeth have ever felt this clean from floss only! My front bottom teeth are very close together and sometimes I have issues with flossing these, especially with thicker floss or floss that tends to shred. My previous expanding floss almost always shreds in this area. This floss seemed to be a bit more waxy and while it did mildly shred, it was barely so and definitely not to the extent of most other floss I've used. It has a nice refreshing mint scent/flavor to it and the black dots really help you see exactly everything that it's pulling out (yucky but strangely satisfying.) It glides smoothly and does expand as it should, and in the areas where my teeth spacing isn't as compact there was no issues with shredding. Yes this floss is expensive compared to traditional floss, but the price is on par with others of this type. It usually lasts me a while so I would gladly repurchase!

Love this floss! I've never tried black floss but I really like the coconut floss. Well I might like this better! It's strong and expanding, so it really gets in there and cleans gunk out from between your teeth. And while I'm not sure if it's cleaning out more than other expanding floss, it is really obvious to see what it's cleaned out because of the black color! You can really see it's doing the job. Too bad it's so pricey - I just don't see myself continuing to spend this much on a single roll of floss, but maybe if they offered more reasonable refills? Also, I love that the package has on the back an indicator that estimates how much floss you have left, but in terms of time (e.g. 30 days, 60 days, etc.) Brilliant! I'm always surprised when the floss runs out and I'm like, uh oh, I hope I have more....

I do like this floss. It is durable but at the same time gets in between my teeth to really get any food or other items stuck between my teeth or gums. Does not shred. The only thing was that I hard a bit of trouble at first figuring out how to open. You pop lid from the bottom. A good value for how many yards of floss you get. Will last for a good long time.

Ever since I switched to these "designer" flosses, I have never returned to the Oral B's/Reach's/store brands because there are absolutely differences in effectiveness and quality. My go-to brand is actually Burst, but I wanted to try out this Brushmo one. Overall, both brands are very comparable. They are thick, black, strong, and enable productive flossing sessions. They also have subtle mint flavors. However, I did notice that Burst is slightly thicker, with a stronger mint taste (as well as their signature eucalyptus flavor). Despite the minor differences, these flosses provide motivation for the healthy habit by essentially calling attention to all the gunk that is coming out of the teeth. Again, I think Burst still edges Brushmo out in quality, but it's definitely a great alternative.
