  • Fast, Fun, and Reliable RC Boat Fast, Fun, and Reliable RC Boat
Color: Green
I recently got the Racebeast RC Boat for my son and I and have taken it out a few times on both a lake and in our pool. It’s an absolute blast on the water. Right out of the box it feels solid and well built, the carrying bag and foam insulation make it easy to carry around and not worry about it getting smashed in the trunk. On the water this little boat is fast and totally hits the 40mph mark. Watch out in the pool as this thing gets to the other side in the blink of an eye. The self-righting feature actually worked for us when it flipped in a sharp turn and popped right back over. The controls are responsive and I love that it has different speed settings, which helped my son try it out safely too. The LED lights are a nice touch for evening runs and the low battery warning saved us from losing it off shore. The waterproofing held up perfectly, just make sure to leave it open to dry after use to ensure the bay is completely dry for your next ride. The battery life is about 15 minutes so I’d recommend grabbing a second one to lessen down time. Overall, it’s been a fun, fast, and reliable RC boat that’s great for both serious RC fans and beginners. ... show more

  • Fast, smooth, great purchase!
Fantastic! Came back after a year to review this! This boat is fast and for use in a larger body of water. (No way you could use it in a pool.) This will be our 2nd summer using this boat on the lake. My son stands on the dock and runs this boat around in the water where there is little wake. When the boat flips, it easily fixes itself. It lets us know when the battery runs low and we need to get it out of the water. That would be the only downside, waiting for it to charge to play again! This has been a great purchase for us. My nephew got a cheaper boat and its not near as fast or smooth on the water. It was worth it for us! ... show more

  • Make sure to keep your receipt
Used the boat once and it was fast, fun, and the kids loved it. Battery started to die out so I took it out of the water, removed the battery, charged it for a couple of hours, reinserted the battery, put the cover on, and went to the lake to keep playing with it. The speed was half of what it was initially, decided to charge the battery over night with the same result the next day. Kids were very disappointed as was I. The hull did not have water in it, there was nothing around for it to have hit, so we set it aside that Memorial Day to do their things and forgot about it until yesterday. Charged up the battery in hopes it would work like it did the first time using it and it went at half speed, again. Order history says I missed the support window for a replacement, but wanted to let future buyers know my experience. ... show more

  • Rocket on the water, with flaws
Color: Green
I'm making an edit to my below review, regarding the boats ability to turn back up, after capsizing. I was surprised to discover that it will turn back up if you keep your finger down on the reset button, until it cycles through several attempts. But the way it works is so problematic (worse than any boat I've seen), that it's hard to say it works properly. Further, the manual says that if, after several tries, let the motor cool off to prevent damage. I mean, this is like they already know of the problem, and have chosen not to fix it. If you're willing to take the chance of losing the boat, or burning out the motor, that's your call. So I still say it's a 4 star. I'm keeping it, regardless if this glaring flaw , which could have been avoided so easily, by making the topside higher, so it would roll over, like every other boat. If you want the fastest boat on the lake, this will probably be it. I've only checked it out in a big pool, but even there it's clearly much faster than some other fast boats. It seems well made, but it doesn't reach 5 stars, because of a couple design flaws, that should not have been missed, otherwise it could be a 6 out of 5 star, instead of 4. It was designed with a totally flat topside, so that after it turns upside down, it's very happy in the water upside down. The feature to turn it back up is useless on flat water, and probably wouldn't work well in even rougher water. I've seen reviews which say otherwise, but unless they're talking about a different boat, it's just physically impossible. Nothing is in the water, and the prop just spins in the air, with the torque of the motor, just rocking the boat slightly. If you don't have a way to retrieve the boat if it capsizes from a turn or wave, say goodbye to your beautiful Racebeast RC boat. It doesn't seem to turn over easily, but if it capsizes, it's very happy upside down. Every other boat I own, or have seen, has a high topside, with a weight bias towards the rear, so it rolls back over practically by itself, with the slightest power from the propeller, with the auto righting feature, they all have. This is just a bad design in an otherwise well made and designed boat. One other issue that also makes no sense, is the way the boat powers on. This boat has the great safety feature of a water sensing power switch, so the motor won't run out of water, but here again this boat misses the mark. Every other boat I own with this switch, turns all the power off, not just that of the motor, which eliminates the need (that exists on cheaper boats) to disconnect and connect the battery, everytime you use the boat. On this boat, between the top and bottom covers there are 8 knobs to open and close, about double or more of smaller cheaper boats. It also takes a few drops of water, so it is less than completely watertight, as most others are. Not a big deal, as I've really only found a few drops after almost submerging the boat. If the boat wasn't so extraordinarily fast and powerful, rated at 65+ kph, or 40+ mph (waaaay more than any other boat I've seen on Amazon, at any price), I'd say to look elsewhere. I'm sure at hundreds more, there are boats just as fast, but with the reasonable build quality and wonderful carrying case, this boat is worth every penny of the price on Amazon. There are some boats for less money that do everything this one doesn't, but they go about 20 mph to this boat's 40. If you are are buying your first boat, I'd say to buy one that is easier to use, and then move up to this one, as they are much easier. But when you're ready for a rocket on the water, this is the one. Maybe think of it as a high performance sports car, instead of an easy to live with SUV. ... show more

  • Fast boat and fun times!!!
Color: Green
This boat can MOVE!! I purchased this for my kids and I to take to the pond and I did not realize how much fun it would be. The controls work well and the boat is responsive. It holds a charge for a good while also. It went under the water a few times and due to the seal it was perfectly fine. Seems to be very durable and will last a while without messing up which is a good piece of mind. It also comes with a little carrying case for it as well. It also has LED lights that light up so you can see it in the dark. We have had a lot of fun with it so far its way different than the cars and trucks we have. It shoots up a nice rooster tail. Very fun and something different! ... show more

  • This RC Boat is Awesome!
This RC Boat is Awesome! I am really impressed with all the features at such a great price. I will start with the speed and power. It is adjustable so you can fine tune how much speed based on how much space you have or for younger kids. I would recommend this to kids 8+ with adult supervision, and it is a blast for adults too. At full speed setting, it is really fast! The battery life is really good too and the included charger is a great addition. Durability is so far amazing, as I’ve gotten the propeller stuck in weeds and branches multiple times and it still runs strong. There are also replacement propellers included so if it needs replacement that can be done. Overall, I’m really impressed with the functionality and value of this RC boat! ... show more

  • RC Boat RC Boat
Review for the older blue and yellow version: Fun little boat! Pretty dang quick and great for the price. 4 stars for a few reasons, the battery lasted a pretty good amount of time for me, maybe 20-30 minutes but as hard as I searched I couldn't find where to buy more of them so I could have longer run times with it (update they sent me a link so I was able to get another battery). The low battery feature is great to have although it doesn't tell you how much time you have to get it back before it dies completely, as well as that you have to turn the speed down to do so once that alarm starts going off, I thought it was dead and stuck in the middle of the lake because I didn't realize you have to turn the speed limiter down to get it to move at that point. Lastly, the boat tilts to the left due to the weight of the battery, making it turn really well to that side but does not turn nearly as well or quick to the right and it really limits the speed of the boat when turning. Would still recommend though. Review for the newer Racebeast model as the older model doesn't exist on this link anymore: 2 Stars, battery only lasted about 10 minutes if that, and again no easy way to find/buy more. Water got into the boat which I realized could have been my fault for not putting the bottom waterproof shell layer in the right slot to really push it down tight but it's really easy to get confused on that peice as I see other reviewers with the same issue and wonder if that was the case for them as well. The biggest problem I had though was that the self righting feature did not work, you press and hold a button for it and it's supposed to flip itself when capsized, well it did not work, had to jiggle the throttle back and forth a bunch while turning it to get it to right itself several times which was very annoying and probably why the battery didn't last very long. The boat leans heavily to one side so if you make any sharp turns to that side it'll flip for sure. Not very stable and honestly didn't seem any faster than the older blue and yellow model one I still have even though it claims almost 10mph more. ... show more

  • My wallet has been saved, the
I spent a long time searching for an affordable, well-sized, and fast R/C boat for my 8-year-old son to enjoy on the lake in our backyard. Many options I considered only had one or two of the features I was looking for. At one point, I almost lost hope, but then I found this perfect R/C boat with less than 100 reviews and a flawless 5-star rating. At this price point, the build quality and motor are outstanding. This isn't your typical low-quality overseas product; it’s well-manufactured for the price. The battery life meets my expectations given its size and performance. It's extremely easy to operate and clean, and the range is more than sufficient to enjoy the thrill of open water. On a calm day, when the lake looks like a sheet of glass, this boat can really fly—I wouldn’t be surprised if it surpasses 30 mph. Count your blessings, add it to your cart, and move on. Finding your next affordable R/C boat is just a few clicks away! ... show more
