    • Good concept but poorly executed
I love the idea and it it wasn't for the fact that the first one was sent damaged, I would not have realized the flaws in their design unless I made a mistake in cleaning it. When the first one arrived, the stem in the center of the pot that is used to secure the mesh screen was pushed to one side of the interior pot wall. I straightened the post so the mesh screen would sit correctly. I then filled with water to bring to a boil and find it was leaking. Upon inspection, I found that the post being pushed to one side caused a small tear in the bottom of the pot. Essentially, the metal is so thin that if the post is pushed accidently, such as during cleaning, the user could end up with a tear in the bottom of the pot making it useless. I will say that you should remove the screw on cap over the mesh screen to clean the interior pot. This will help you avoid the possibility of pushing the stem by accident. As I said, the overall idea is amazing. I loved the thought of brewing my tea in the pot and having only one vessel to use. It is the execution of the idea that needs some work. The base should be thicker so that the stem that is welded on the inside cannot tear the base if the user accidentally moves it. Thankfully the first one came this way so I didn't have to find out on my own through an accident. I feel most users may accidentally cause this to happen during cleaning by not realizing the cap on the stem, holding the mesh screen, can be removed to remove the screen and clean the interior pot. If you enjoy tea and chai tea then I recommend this product just remember, it is fragile. ... show more

I got this as a gift for my grandma and it solves the annoying problem of having the milk from the chai brew onto the stove. It is great for brewing loose leaf teas as well!

    • From stove to dumpster
This is not a good product. It doesn't have clear instructions. Poorly welded and gives chai a weird taste. The inner and outer areas don't really do much along the lines of helping make chai and instead are messy

    • Love the Included Chai Recipes for This Unusual Brewing Pot
I ordered this Chai tea brewing pot for 2 reasons 1) I love Chai tea and 2) my elderly mother still brews her tea using a pan on her stovetop so this pan looks easier to use for tea brewing. This tea brewing pot works for both purposes. I found that this brewing pot takes some time to learn how to best use it. There is an interior sort of pot within this pot with a metal post in the middle of it. The water and ingredients are poured into this interior chamber. There is a nice small recipe booklet with 12 different Chai recipes. Since I already have my own Chai tea blend, I use it, keeping in mind the booklet's directions. The recipes all state to bring water to a boil and then add the tea and ingredients. This I did and got a very strong tea. (No wonder the recipes state to add an equal part milk before the end. Of course, I can adjust now that I know.) The water and tea never did boil over. Once all of the ingredients are in the brewing chamber in the center of this pot, there's a strainer (a bit flimsy) that fits over the metal post in the middle. Care is needed to get it placed on since the pole and pot are very hot. Then there's a metal top piece that's screwed on to hold the strainer in place. Again this requires care because everything is boiling at this point. Once the tea is done (again to taste), the brewing pot is tilted and the hot tea poured out of the side spout. This worked flawlessly for me and the handle was not hot. I used 16 ounces of water (2 cups) to make my Chai tea and then added milk afterwards. For me, this made a large mug-full of tea so this pot does not brew much at a time. I think cleaning this pot is pretty easy as it's basically keeping track of the small pieces which are the strainer and the twist off piece for securing the strainer. I just used a dish cloth to clean between the narrow area between the inner pot and the outer pot walls. My rating is 4 stars for this specialized pot for brewing using loose tea leaves and additional ingredients. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This was an accidental find, and I was looking forward to it. I was not disappointed, and am excited to brew some real Chai Tea. The design of the top lid is very secure, and I love the screw top to the interior lid. However, I feel like the mesh screen could be more secure. I love that it comes with a recipe book, and I’m be putting it to good use! Appreciate the technological design, of brewing and pouring right out the spout without any extra steps.
