I really didn’t realize that this was a refurbished machine when I bought it. The price was so amazing I couldn’t pass it up. So far it has lived up to all my expectations. It seems brand new. I use it for machine piecing, and you do need to help it a bit when there are many seams meeting in one place, a pinwheel, for example. I have only used straight stitch, and did my initials. Worked great. There are so many different stitches, but I do not really need those. Bobbin is easy, and so is threading. Charts on the machine for both. I love it.

I purchased the RSQ9285 model. I read all of the reviews while I was waiting for this machine to arrive in the mail and some of the negative reviews made me nervous. However once the machine arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and ease of use! It came with an instructional dvd that helped me understand how to use every feature and I found that it also had an explanation for every issue that I had read about in the negative reviews. I suspect most of the negative reviews were left by people who either did not have access to or did not take the time to watch the instructional video. I’d absolutely recommend this machine. I’ll never go back to a standard machine or a Singer ever again.

My pre-owned basic Singer sewing machine died last month. I thought to buy the basic 27-stich Brother machine but the price now is triple the original price. I kept looking on Amazon. This machine popped up with reasonable price. It's a factory remanufactured machine. It comes with described accessories. The DVD instruction is helpful for the newbie like me. I tried making fabric mask, 3 pajamas. It worked like a charm. I think the is the best decision I made on purchase this machine. Update... I got this machin in June. I enjoyed my sewing experience with the function very much. I put myself to learn and sew some thing almost every other weekend. It died after Halloween which is less than 5 months after I received the machine. I tried every troubleshooting that Brother support recommended, it didn't work. So I was recommended to bring my machine to local Brother dealor near me. I found 1. After 2 weeks of dropping off my machine, I was told that my machine had "common issue" that can't be fixed. So they had to file the claim through Brother to get replacement part. Guys..... Right now, it's been more than 2 months, nothing get better. The dealor complained that the filed the claim through Brother and have been waiting to hear from Brother. 2 months and can't tell me when they will hear back from Brother. I started feeling regret of purchase Brother brand now. It takes forever to get help support! I could have bought extra warranty from Amazon so I don't have to deal with this headache. In June my warranty will be expired. The mache function is good, the life time is horrible and the service, I even don't want to rate it. Be careful if you would like to purchase this model. *update*** 3/5/21 I got a call from my local dealer yesterday that I can pick up my sewing machine. I went there today, Brother gave me a totally Brand new machine. The dealer has to unpack the new box and send my old one back to Brother without me paying anything. I was so happy that I can get busy sewing again. I think I owe this review 5 stars. I don't know how long this will last. But so far, I really enjoy my sewing journey with this model. I hope this brand new machine that I just got for replacement will last me for years. Thank you the dealer and thank you Brother for this, even though it's a very long wait, I really appreciate it.

This machine is great for beginners and experienced sewers alike. It’s VERY easy to thread, both the needle and the bobbin The digital display makes it also very easy to select and adjust the stitches width and length. I haven’t tried sewing very think fabrics with it yet, like denim etc but so far I’ve had no problems getting through 2 or 3 layers. The whole sewing experience is smooth and pretty stress free.... and it’s really a pretty machine too! I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to sew.

I have had my new machine about one week. It sews nicely and easy to learn with included detailed DVD and manual. It is lightweight but seems solidly built. It took awhile to figure out the needle threader, but handy to have now that I did. It is great having a clear view of the bobbin, which is very easy to fill and load. The only flaw I have an issue with is the light. The instructions state to turn off machine to thread needle. When the machine is off, the light is off and I cannot see to thread it. I purchased a separate machine LED light which is helped.

I bought this for my daughter-in-law. I have a Janome and was unable to find an affordable one due to COVID. I bought this refurbished Brother and am very happy with it. It was easy to learn how to set up and get started. I have tried several of the stitches and everything works very nicely. The additional sewing table is especially nice. I am very happy with the purchase! I saw a few low reviews and am wondering if those are due to a less experienced sewer setting up the machine, getting it threaded correctly, etc. I had no trouble at all.

I don't normally write reviews when I purchase something, but this purchase warrants a review. Based on other reviews before I ordered this sewing machine I wasn't sure i was going to be happy with it. I figured I would order it and if I didn't like it I would just return it. I have another machine made by Brother that I like, so it was worth checking it out. Wow am I pleasantly surprised. This is a sewing machine with a lot of features given the price. Yes it is a manufacturers refurbished machine, but looks brand new and functions like it's new.

It worker fine for few days and then stichces starting coming loose. Thought of return ung it but fried calling Brother support and they made me make some changes and after that it seema working fine. Not the wheel is stick and when i call the support, they asked me to take it to a service center and they are saying they need 4 weeks to get it back. Which is litterly frustration.
