  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great feature for any bathroom

I have installed hand showers in each of my bathrooms. They work really well and are very practical. I have never experienced a leak with this product and I've used it for years!

I had the same problem with two different bidets, the T-connector leaked because I lack the upper-body strength to tighten it, and I lack the strong back required to position myself underneath the toilet. This is not DIY. I paid more to install it than I paid for the product in the first place. However, after paying someone younger to squat/tighten, it does work and does not leak enough to call a plumber to stop the leak. There is no A/C in the water closet with the toilet, so I cannot use any of the more "luxurious" bidets, those with hot/cold, auto-disinfectant, etc. So it is cold water when the temp outside is cold. The alternative to this is a hand-held bidet bottle with distilled warm water, which is a bit more hassle but perhaps unavoidable in really cold weather. If you are a customer who is installing new fixtures, install the water supply hose so it is long and flat, not crimped. Install the water tank so it is at least four feet or so above the toilet, not right on top of it, this gives one the room to add new items like a bidet and it makes maintenance of leaks and cleaning easier. Follow up: it leaked again after one use, but not from the product. It is leaking from under the seal in the tank where there should be a washer. Before I call a plumb$r, I am trying this cludge: I put a healthy glob of water resistant sealant caulk under the toilet tank around the leaky seal. If this does not work, I will buy a new toilet, hire a plumber and get him (or her) to raise the tank to a level that does not hurt my back to maintain and clean it. I would also pay him or her to install the T connector or one like it so that it does not leak. It now appears to me the leak is due to a loose seal on the tank not from the bidet. Jiggling the connecting pipe (PVC) in the tank to screw and unscrew various T connectors for the past two weeks made me aware of what appears to be mold under the tank (health hazard requiring scrubbing encounter with chlorine bleach, gloves and steel wool) as well as what is probably a worn washer. The price for labor (roughly $100/hour) is not worth having a plumber shop for just the right washer, it's a better use of plumber time to have them install new equipment, in this case a new tank, raised above where the old one is. I still maintain (sorry for long review it is an honest account of everything I've done so far) this is not a DIY unless you're a contractor, have plumbing skills, already have A/C in the water-closet, etc. I am an average homeowner with more than average knowledge of construction law. I did not notice until now that the toilet tank should be higher by a few feet from where it is, because evidently it is not a Building Code violation (I had professional inspection in 2011) but placing the tank in that manner makes it harder to maintain and clean the toilet area. Mold builds up in areas that don't have reasonable human access, particularly in small rooms like the water-closet, clothing closets, laundry area, food pantries and shower stalls--areas that we revisit daily and where we breathe in unseen mold spores. In any event, assuming you have an accessible newish toilet, with accessible water shut off for the toilet, this product is a great idea for anybody who visits the restroom often--whether a toddler learning to use the "grown-up" potty, an adult with incontinence, Chron's Disease, or anyone wanting more personal hygiene. It does save toilet paper. In fact, you may wonder after the first time you use it WHY you have ever used toilet paper for cleaning "down there" other than to dry yourself off.... Bidets have been used in Europe and Japan for a long time... All in all, you get what you pay for. This is a better- made product than the Luxe bidet, but it's a completely different design. It is built just like a sink dishwasher sprayer hose...it does serve the purpose. Of course it's relatively warm weather now....so we'll see how comfy it is when it is below zero outside, but it should be at least 32°F, might be a chilly wash...it is still a huge improvement over dry paper and no way to wash between showers and baths. The alternative for me is to hire an electrician to install A/C in the toilet room then spend another $400 on an all-in-one device, which delivers hot/cold/massage and cleans itself, however at this point spending $600 on toilet hygiene seems to be too much of a luxury... For those customers who live within the US States where bidets are installed in a few restaurants, I highly recommend you "try it before you buy it." This is one of those products that involves a kind of passive life-style change, because you will feel cleaner when you use it and when you're away from it...well...you be the judge. Update: about four days now since we installed it, 1. the toilet is from 1975, meaning it is the original plumbing for my house which was manufactured that year. 2. it's not mold, it looks like brown rust or silt from mud dribbling in through the pipes, built up over 38 years. There is still a leak, but not much of a leak, maybe a dribble not quite a drop and that probably can eventually be patched but next step is new toilet. There is more water sprayed on the floor from using it but no more than from a shower dry-off on the same floor down the "hall." I guestimate in four days I am using 1/2 the paper I normally use, just to dry off and feel MUCH CLEANER. ... show more

2013/10/19 - I installed this just over a week ago and the product is functioning perfectly. The instructions are adequate, but may seem be a bit confusing or incomplete if you don't take the time to read them through and understand where all the parts go before you start. You will need a flexible connection between the bottom of your flush tank and the wall valve. If you have a rigid tube, it will need to be replaced. Also, the instructions don't tell you to use Teflon tape on all threaded connections. I would recommend this to help avoid any leaks. This may very well have been the problem with those who complained about leaking and rusting. I secured the sprayer holster to the wall instead of using the tank clip and, although the holster is plastic, it seems to be solid and secure. I've found that you can control the spray pressure by adjusting the T-valve at the flush tank (the valve at the wall should be fully open). We have ours at just under half open. Otherwise, the water pressure will be just as strong as what goes into your flush tank. As far as temperature, the water is typically going to be as cold as your tap water, as they both come from the same water main. My wife loves this so much, she has asked that I install another in out second bathroom. I'm placing that order today. 2013/11/11 - I purchased (on Oct 19) and installed the second and we are just as satisfied. We've experienced no leaks or other problems with either (so far). For those that have experienced leaking at the connections and for those that want to avoid the problem, I would suggest using the Teflon tape on all threaded connections. This item remains a five-star item for me. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Life changer...

We have to move every so often because of our professional occupation, so installing an expensive bidet is not an option in rental homes. I initially had ordered this and the Brondell hot/cold valve attachment, and ended up returning that since I wasn't as bothered by the cold water as I thought I'd be (at least not enough to install that secondary attachment). I have never used a bidet before this, and it was a learning curve to angle the stream so water wasn't shooting everywhere, and sometimes I still need to wipe up excess water around the toilet, but this has changed my life significantly. After having children, it seemed like I had to wipe constantly with as many as 10 baby wipes to feel clean after a bowel movement (never had problems before kids), and I started to develop itchy, weeping rashes a year ago. It got to the point that I had to take drugs (prescribed) just to get through the day so I wasn't itching frantically during the day. It was that bad. I finally began researching everything when my care provider suggested I might have some sort of horrible viral skin disease down there- which turned out not to be true, thankfully. Once I started to use this, I have never suffered from that horrible itching and swelling again. The rash may have been the chemicals/preservatives from the wipes (which are actually quite bad-please rethink using them on children/infants) and the repeated friction from wiping. I actually just ordered the portable Brondell hand pump so I can take it with me if I have to travel. As an additional note, I have never had a problem with this device leaking-even when I've accidently forgot to shut off the valve (a couple times even over a long weekend). ... show more
