The NuTone White Exhaust Fan, Heater, and Light Combo is the perfect addition for your master, guest, or kid's bathroom. From the Manufacturer In the midst of the Great Depression, two aggressive young men emerged with two new products that would make major contributions to the housing industry. In 1932, Henry Broan developed and manufactured a kitchen fan called the Motordor Fan that provided quiet and efficient kitchen ventilation. His creation launched what is today known as Broan-NuTone LLC. Four years later, in 1936, J. Ralph Corbett developed a melodious door chime replacing the obnoxious door buzzer of the time. His development launched what is today known as NuTone, Inc. Both men, headquartered in the Midwest, started their companies with a simple product and a few employees. Each expanded their companies, creating revolutionary new products that provided unmatched conveniences for homeowners nationwide. Both companies quickly became global competitors and continued to provide innovative, superior products to meet the needs of consumers. In 1981, Broan Mfg. Co., Inc. was acquired by Nortek, Inc. and became the lead company of Nortek's Residential Building Products Group, which was named the Broan Group. During this same time period, NuTone was sold to Scovill Manufacturing in 1967 and was then acquired by Williams plc in 1991. In 1998, Nortek acquired NuTone, adding it to the Broan Group and renaming the group the Broan-NuTone Group. Then, in January 2000, Broan Mfg. Co., Inc. became Broan-NuTone LLC, with NuTone Inc., Aubrey Manufacturing, Inc. and Rangaire LP as subsidiaries. Today, Broan-NuTone LLC is headquartered in Hartford, Wis. and employs more than 3,200 people in eight countries on three continents. It is North America's largest producer of residential ventilation products such as range hoods, ventilation fans and indoor air quality products and also holds major market positions in chimes, central vacuums, intercom systems, medicine cabinets, built-in electric heaters, whole-house fans, attic ventilators, paddle fans, ironing centers, trash compactors and speakers.

  • Takes awhile to heat up
The installation was difficult. I ordered the replacement fan just like the one I replaced except the new one brackets were different than the old one. My installer was able to install new handmade brackets,

  • It fits in the same opening in the ceiling
I replaced a Nutone unit that was installed in 1972. I did need to replace whole the unit. The metal round housing was the same size, however to attach the main component, the hook was in a different position, so I did need to take out the original housing. I did not wire the night light. I had just 4 wires to work with from the old installation. The sound level is about the older unit. The units works well so far! ... show more

  • Easy to install
So far so good. Fairly quite. But I have noticed at times the fan making odd/louder than usual noises.

  • The new unit is an exact replacement
I had a 27 year old unit that had failing fan motors. The cost of a new unit was about the same as parts, so I bought a new unit, hoping the guts would fit so no ductwork changes would be needed. I am glad they did not change the product. The old parts came out and the new went in. I discarded the new housing. I am glad there was no planned obsolescence! ... show more

  • Simple replacement for older version
I have a 50 year old house. Not sure how long the old bathroom fan, identical to the Broan 9093WH, has been there. The noise level was bad. About 65dB. It was a relief to turn it off. The noise level was very bothersome. I didn't want to cut a whole new opening so I ordered the 9093WH 70 CFM 1500w fan, heater, light and nightlight unit. I removed the entire motor/heater/fan assembly from the old unit and the new assembly fit exactly into the old can in the ceiling. I plugged the wiring harness connector of the new assembly into the old connector on the can. Everything works. I don't have wiring installed for the nightlight as the old unit didn't have one. This was the easiest fan replacement I have ever done. The best part is the sound level of the new exhaust fan is only 50 dB. When searching all the options for units with heat and light, I was leaning toward other models because of the lower sone ratings. This unit is rated at 3 or 4 sones. 4 sones is about 49 dB. It is so much quieter than the old unit. Some reviews say this fan is loud. No, it is not. My old fan was loud. This one you can hear, but it doesn't assault your senses like the old one. BTW, I never write reviews. I thought I should in case you are considering this unit and are wondering about the noise level. ... show more

  • Easy to transfer “guts” from new unit to old unit
The fan on my old unit died so I bought this one hoping that it would be a perfect match and minimize the headache of replacing it. I can confirm that this is a perfect match for my old unit with no design changes of significance. My old unit was in my house prior to me moving here in 2013, so it’s older than that. Instead of replacing the old ceiling housing with the new housing provided, I simply loosened two screws to remove the “guts” of the new unit. At that point, all I had to do was have someone hold the guts in place while I attached it with two screws in the existing ceiling housing…and then simply connected the wire harness. Everything works perfectly. It was an easy install, no rattling noises or anything from the new unit. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • "FANTASTIC !
Love it ! (I didn't know this unit came with a set of on/off switches. I unfortunately bought a $40 switch set for all the functions. Wish I knew that ahead of time)
