My family and I are having tons of fun with this bird feeder. We live in a semi-rural area surrounded by woods, and the variety of birds in our area is HUGE but they move so fast, we can only get a glimpse of them from time to time, especially the unique ones that are most beautiful. We invested in a camera bird feeder after searching around on easy ways for my family and I to see what birds were in the neighborhood, and we settled on this model. This feeder has a super high quality camera attached to the main compartment. It connects to your home Wifi system, to allow you to watch your feeder in real time. There is a easy to use app on your phone to download, I had no trouble installing or using the app, and it works really great. It sends you pictures! It even has an AI feature that works pretty well, to help identify the birds. From a power perspective, the camera does have an onboard battery, and the feeder itself has a solar panel on top to help keep the battery charged. Now keep in mind, the solar panel just extends the time between charges of the main battery. I normally charge the battery inside overnight about once a week, and this is usually when I add more bird seed to the onboard seed holder, so the panel does help extend the battery life, but it is not 100% the only way to keep it charged. From a install perspective, overall this feeder is relatively complex to put together, as well as setup. Grandma is absolutely not going to be doing this. You need a relatively handy person to put it together, mount it, then a techy person to help get the camera card installed, and the Wi-Fi setup. It took about an hour all in. The instructions are pretty good, the English is fine but it would have been nice to have a few more steps to help explain things. All that being said, I am very happy with this feeder. My kids and I are enjoying the candid views of the birds on the included perch of the feeder, and it has stood up well to the elements. Take good care of this product and it feels like it will last. This bird feeder was easy to install and easy to add bird feed to. The camera catches the images of birds that come to feed, but is often not accurate about the bird that is there. A.I.isn’t always correct. We live in Midwest, Missouri and many times the app says that it is a tropical bird when it’s clearly a cardinal or a Bluejay, etc. The A.I. definitely needs some education. It’s quite entertaining. I’m not sure it is worth the price paid $135, but my husband has had a lot of fun watching the birds from his armchair. ... show more

Pretty cool smart bird feeder camera, I am actually impressed. Functionality is very similar to a smart doorbell camera. So far works great at identifying birds and providing motion detection notifications. Regular motion detection will catch everything from people walking around to squirrels eating all the food, but you can also set it to bird detection only and that seems to work well too. I recommend this for any bird enthusiast. I'll have to wait and see how the battery holds up with just a trickle charge from the solar panel. Good WiFi signal from feeder in back yard to WiFi router in living room about 40-50 feet away through one exterior wall. ... show more

    • Awesome product, works well, fun for the whole family
This is my second one of these that I bought, I initially bought one for my wife for Mother's Day, and then we ended up buying another one for her mother because of we loved it, we we put the app on everyone's phone so everyone can see when the birds come and we get an alert every time the birds come. The first week we just had a few Birds but by the second and third week we had like hundreds of birds coming. Seems like with the right type of bird food all different types of birds come and you got to close up picture of every one of them, even if you miss when they show up, you can see it later on in the day.
