Absolutely horrible car seat. Installation instructions for the recline are extremely unclear. The rotation feature gets jammed easily - no idea how any parent would be able to easily maneuver this. The rear facing recline is extremely aggressive.

    • Solid three stars, but worth the good sleep.
Pros: The most important thing for me (other than safety) right now is comfortable sleep, so it's a win for us. It reclines really far back, which is perfect for my 13 month old kiddo, allowing for very comfortable sleep. Great head support. I love how well she sleeps in it and her neck position. It's slim fit, so allows for people to sit relatively comfortably on either side of it when in the middle of the car. No chemical fire retardants in the fabric. Cons: Minor, but the recline feature was difficult to figure out and there weren't instructions. It has to be out of the car and you need to lift the seat up off the floor to increase the recline. Despite being slim fit, it has be 100 percent perfectly centered for both of the other belt buckles to be accessible. One of them is still very difficult to access. This made install a bit of a pain. The cover does not appear to be as easy to remove and clean as other car seats. Though it has relaxed a bit over time, the belt was initially very difficult to tighten. It seems like a dexterous and determined older kid might be able to reach and operate the rotation feature. Not good if that happens while driving. This may get retired earlier than another seat we have due to that. The slimness of the seat may make this uncomfortable for older or chunkier kiddos. It's not as breathable as our last car seat and she sweats a LOT in it on warm days. It is HEAVY, but the steal frame is a pro safety-wise. You will want a secondary lightweight travel car seat if you travel a lot. In our sedan, the front seats automatically move back to allow the driver more room to exit the vehicle. With the seat rear facing, it doesn't really have the space required to use the rotation feature, but that's probably just our car. I imagine smaller sedans will all have that issue, though. The belt gets a bit tighter on the legs than the chest - like the belt unevenly distributes pressure. I'm always checking to make sure it isn't too tight on her legs. I don't have to do that with the other seat we have. ... show more

A huge disappointment! I was so excited for this car seat to come out. But the recline is extreme in the rear facing position, and the latch to swivel the car seat feels very cheap and flimsy. The rotation is not as smooth as advertised. The head rest is poorly padded when you remove the infant insert. I think britax missed the mark on this one. ... show more

Disappointed in the recline feature, which is super hard to adjust and requires uninstalling the car seat. I bought 3 of these (for my 2 year old and my 12 month twins). I planned on returning as the turn feature is finicky on the car seats and sometimes requires multiple attempts. The straps are sometimes easy to tighten properly, and other times for no particular reason are so challenging and I can’t get them snug enough (using the pinch test), which is highly alarming when it comes to safety. I had planned to return all 3, however Amazon warned me I wouldn’t get a full refund. Now I’m stuck trying to find a local car seat specialist to try and help me or else try and return and see what Amazon will refund me with. I can’t keep a car seat if the straps won’t tighten to secure my babies. Amazons return policy on car seats is awful and I’ll never purchase another car seat through them. I purchased chicco fit 360 seats through Sam’s Club for our other vehicle and returned 1 of them open out of the box (couldn’t fit 3 across in my other vehicle) and Sam’s took back with no questions asked and full refund. ... show more

If you have the space for this car seat, you should definitely get it. I drive a minivan and definitely have the space it does recline but my 11 month old baby has no issues with it. I saw a lot of negative reviews online about to recline but I have no issue with it since I have the space and my baby is very comfortable. ... show more

10/10 do NOT recommend. I’ve never been this disappointed in a Britax car seat, especially because I was so excited for this new version. It took me nearly 3 hours to install it “correctly,” and even then, it still doesn’t feel right. I have a Honda Odyssey, and the back of the car seat presses into my driver’s seat. To get it level, it has to be fully reclined, which leaves me with basically no room to sit comfortably. The strap tightening mechanism is also really difficult to adjust. I can’t imagine how frustrating that will be once there are crumbs or everyday mess in the seat. The fabric doesn’t seem like it will hold up over time either. For the price, it’s just not worth it.
