I got this for my daughter's dorm room. She uses it as a night stand that she can store things in. She says friends sit on it and it is holding up great. The underside of the lid has a piece of finished solid bamboo so she flips it over at night and has her phone, glasses, and some water on it like a bedside table. I usually don’t like buying anything without a review first, but every once in awhile I’ll roll the dice. I got this because it kind of matches the color of my couch. It “suffices” I would say, I’m pretty much just going to use it as a foot rest when I’m on the couch but I can’t see someone using this for multiple purposes, it just doesn’t feel that sturdy. The legs are very cheap feeling and look it, one actually gave me a splinter. Once putting together I really wouldn’t take it apart again the legs just don’t feel like they can handle it. Speaking of which, it didn’t come with any instructions on assembly, I mean it’s pretty self explanatory but I like to assemble things to spec instead of taking guesses and I had to come back to this ottoman to see the photo with the assembly pics. Overall it looks good but once you feel it and look closely you can tell it’s a pretty cheap piece. But what do you expect for the price so I can’t be upset. ... show more

    • Holes don't line up with the feet
Looks great but assembly wasn't easy or ideal. The holes for the feet don't actually line up with the metal supports or the bottom of the box. My husband had to work some special magic to make it fit. Also, I know it says it supports a lot of weight but it does not feel sturdy. That aside, it looks lovely. ... show more

I got this for college use and i used as storage and as a step stool to get up into my bed and as a place to sit. the sturdiness of it lasted for about 6 months, it’s claim on “years” is questionable. however it is great for storage and was wonderful until it broke.
