Other reports show that this is a very cheap design. Yes, it is, but it works very well. Yes, you can break it easily, but if you are careful, it works just like the $200 conical. I like it, because you can experiment with smaller batches. I now have 3 of them, all in production. And yeast harvesting works just fine without a ball.

I had read some reviews and had reservations. Stories of it leaking and such. Now you put it together so if you pay attention and put the gasket on properly it should last for quite some time unless something physically happens to it. But to be honest with you this thing has been fantastic. It's easy and handy to use I like to let my wine sit in it to clarify. And when you find that perfect yeast the cone makes it easy for recovering it. Or use it as a yeast manufacture. Let alone if you desire you could even use it as a drink dispenser.

little disappointed it is not clear like the photos show, its a frosted clear. i had to redrill out the holes for the airlock and valve because they were not round for the airlock was not keeping air out and the valve would leak. defiantly not as high quality as some of the other conical fermenters out there, but still good for beginners

Brewed a batch of mead, and this conical fermenter was awesome! I do have concerns over the spout still, like I don't expect it to last and won't be adjusting it after install. Also to that point, you do not have to crazy tighten the nut behind the spout. It looks like you should, but I'm betting that's what leads to it getting broken. Didn't happen here, and would still recommend.

Very well designed product. Quite an effective fermenter that is easily the best I have ever used. I use a different spigot (stainless steel ~$8) I bought for a previous fermenter. Likely a much better spigot than is included n this kit. Care must be taken when taking on/off the spigot as the fermenter's plastic is somewhat thin. Seller quickly addressed a minor issue and I am pleased with the product.

I purchased this for my wife as she likes to brew half batches on our Gigawort. This little fermenter is perfect for its size and price. Pros: > Easy to clean > Inexpensive > Ball Valve for easy trub dumping and transfers. Cons: > Made of plastic, so you must be really careful with how you clean the inside.

It holds liquid so I suppose it works as intended. My biggest issue is the bung that came with the fermenter is too small for the hole. Also the entire fermenter is made of thin plastic and it it is not very stable. All in all, spend the extra money and get a different brand. UPDATE- this POS ruins your brews. I have a couple batches of vinegar instead of mead because this pile of junk will not form an air seal of any kind. Will not recommend this to anyone unless your goal is to waste $45.
