I ordered these bags to test for making cider (unfiltered apple juice) with my largest apple press. I have been using 5-gallon paint-strainer bags for my other presses, but the buckets on my big press are too large for them (16.5" across by 14" tall). These bags fit the larger buckets well and look like they will hold up under the pressing effort, where the paint-strainer bags are more flimsy. I like the drawstrings, but the bags fit the large buckets very securely, so don't really need them unless using the bags in smaller buckets. The fabric is more solid and the mesh finer than the paint-strainer bags, so it looks like they will hold up for a lot of re-use. I don't press apples until the fall, so I could not put these to the full test, but am very pleased with them so far and will come back with an edit if that changes after cider season. I could definitely see ordering more of these to replace all the paint-strainer bags! Two thumbs up for a good product! :) ... show more

These COIDEA reusable straining bags are just as good as the name brewing brand straining bag that I have in my stock. My stock bag is 24” x 26” made of nylon with no drawstring and these COIDEA bags are 22” x 26” made of premium BPA Free polyester, double reinforced stitched with a drawstring. These COIDEA bags will get the job done. I like that these COIDEA bags fit my 6 gallon primary fermenter and I like that the two inner corners of the bags have a decent size radius. Here is the review ranking basis that I have adopted: ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend. ... show more

These bags function well for all-gran brewing. I brew 5 gallon batches of wort in an 8-gallon kettle that is 16 inches tall and 13.5 inches in diameter, and these bags are plenty large for my kettle. They are well made and the seams are perfectly sutured, The drawstring works perfectly as well. The bags drain easily, and stand up to pressing and squeezing to get as much liquid out of the grain as possible. I would prefer a cylindrical shape rather than the flat seam along the bottom that these bags have, but that is a minor issue that in no way detracts from the functionality of the bag. ... show more

    • Very versitile.
I ordered these straining bag's with intentions to make homemade cheese. I wanted a more sturdy type of strainer other than cheese cloth that wears down after several uses seeing how I make my own cheese twice a week. These strainer bag's are the perfect solution. They're made exceptionally well and of quality materials. I like that they're so versitile. I'm planning on making some jam this next week so I'm going to experiment with them like I did making cheese and see how they do. I'm sure I'll have no problems and the bag's will do jus5 as well with jam as they did with cheese. The strainer bag's are a nice addition to my kitchen tools I use the most. A beer brewer, I mash in a bag. This large mesh bag fits a Home Depot 10 gallon round water cooler (my mash tun) well. With a draw string, I can cinch the bag closed inside the cooler before I put the lid on or leave the mesh turned over outside the cooler and thread the lid on. Either way works. These straining bags were great for making large batches of cold brew coffee and tea at home. I was able to make several gallons of cold brew coffee with these straining bags and the result was a clean coffee with no large pieces of coffee grounds in it.

I recently came across these brew bags, and they have become an indispensable tool in my kitchen, especially during pomegranate season. Let me explain why. Our side yard boasts a flourishing pomegranate tree, once, I took care of thwarting birds, which means we were blessed with an abundance of fruit last year. I've taken to making my own pomegranate juice, but the process can be messy and time-consuming. After blending the fruit, I'm left with a pulpy mixture that needs to be strained to extract the juice effectively. This is where the brew bags come in. With their generous size and fine mesh strainer, these bags make filtering out the juice a breeze. I simply pour the blended mixture into the bag, and it effectively separates the juice from the pulp. What's more, the adjustable drawstring ensures a secure closure, preventing any spillage or mess. Once I've finished gravity filtering, I can give the bag a gentle squeeze to extract every last drop of juice. It's amazing how much extra liquid you can retrieve with a bit of pressure.
