This is a propane (20 percent), propylene (40 percent), dimethyl ether(40 percent) fuel gas blend. It burns and heats workpieces noticeably faster than the other options on the market which are regular propane, or any of the bernzomatic /Worthington MapPro (or any of the other trade names they might call it - mapPlus, etc) which are all the same 99.5 percent propylene, are ALL products of Bernzomatic /Worthington (because they are the only other maker of the steel cylinders that are approved by DOT). This gas isn't as good as the old MAPP gas formula which was stabilized methylacetylene /propadiene /propane which was a great degree hotter than any of the presently available disposable torch fuel options, but is no longer being produced. I have found this Bluefire to really shine in the air /fuel hand torches where it seems like the flame is hotter than propane or propylene, and it is a more useful flame. When I use it in either of my small oxygen torches, it is about the same as propylene. ... show more

I was trying to melt down silver and this thing could barely burn it much less melt it. Is mistaken on thinking the yellow was stronger than the blue I read that a couple places. If it’s not true I apologize
