Features

  • Natural Material: Unlike other brands, these brew bags are made of 100% unbleached cotton cloth, not polyester or nylon. No chemical smell, you can rest assured to use this brew bag when all-grain brewing or homebrewing. And it is durable and washable. Making your life healthier.
  • Reinforced Stitching: Seams inside the bag are double-stitched to avoid ripping or tearing. No need to worry the thread or other debris falling into the liquid. With great weave, the home brew grain bag can help to extract more sugars when mashing grain out, making beer taste great.
  • Great Weave: The weave of bag is 90 x 88. The fine mesh strainer bag helps filter out the tiny bits of grain, leaves a nice, clear wort. Also woven fine enough to strain grain husk, can withstand boiling, is very strong, slick so it cleans easily and does not harbor bacteria, and can be used over and over.
  • Strong Bearing Capacity: Fit kettles up to 17" In diameter. Since made of cotton, its not easy to tear and can hold much grain(22 lbs) than nylon and polyester. Drawstring is adjustable and durable, made of 4-strand string, which been capable of lifting the largest of grain bills easily, yet also permit nice runoff of the brewing wort.
  • Multiple Usages: Brewing in a bag simplifies this process, which eliminates the need for a separate mash tun. And can be used for a variety of applications outside of brewing too! Like cold brew to cider, jams, fruit wine making. Please wash it and drip dry before using grain bag.

  • Wash before use
I used these for big batches of cold brew for an event. They worked great for that. When I first opened them they did not smell right. After washing well with dish soap they smelled fine and caused no issues. I recommend

  • Keep your eye on it
This is a good durable product and it works well but don't leave it in your fermentation bucket for too long. A man yeast or whole mold can develop if you leave it in the fermentation bucket too long destroying your wine must. It's hand for removing the left over fruit parts helping to keep a clearer wine. Definitely a useful piece of your winemaking kit ... show more

  • Decent
Seems decent quality for the money. Not paper thin but some mean to it. Only down side is they freaking stink out of the bag....wash them first especially if your making something that soaks up odor haha

  • Weave so tight it almost holds liquid
Seems well made but the weave is so tight it almost won't drain. It's a pain to use.

  • Life saver for large batches of jelly
These bags are great. They're also huge. They can cover the inside and most of the outside of a 20 quart pot. I recommend cleaning them pretty well to begin with if you're using them to strain jelly. They leech a bit of natural tannins which can disrupt the colors. I boiled and drained a few times and that worked nicely. These bags are a game changer with my large batches of jelly and jam. I would still use them for small batches too. They're just so handy. I will be using them again for years to come. They are sturdy and work well for staining out pulp and tiny seeds leaving nearly perfectly clear liquid. One reviewer mentioned that they had difficulty getting the liquid through the bags. This problem can be easily fixed by dampening the bags before pouring the fruits and juices through. They are a very fine mesh, so be prepared for some of the liquid that would go through cheesecloth not coming through. Fruit particles also won't be coming through to cloud the jelly. I boil first just to insure they are sanitized, then hang over a large pot. When the fruits are soft and ready, I pour them into the bag still hanging in the pot. Then I lift the bag out of the pot and use the draw string to tie and suspend over the pot to allow the liquid to strain. Then I empty the fruit pulp, rinse, and boil again before hanging to dry. I took the plastic drawstring locks off because I was hesitant to boil them and I've found I don't really need them for what I'm doing. These bags are great. I'll never use cheesecloth or traditional jelly bags again. ... show more

  • Best stock straining product I've ever used!
This is a large, wide bag. It fits over about any pot or strainer. I placed it over a strainer and poured my bones and broth over it. Nothing got through the bag but pure broth! The clean-up was amazingly simple. I turned it inside-out, sprayed water over it to release the sediment, and scrubbed it by hand with hot water and Dawn dish liquid. It held up amazingly well. I threw it in my washing machine, a small load, hot water, and a splash of Dawn. It came out looking brand new. I will use these again when it's time to make crabapple jelly! ... show more
