    • Side/back sleeper, but not fully expanded
Purchased this about 6 months ago, so I think I’ve had plenty of nights on this thing to help write a review. Comfort - I LOVE it. I’m a cross between a back and side sleeper. It doesn’t cause any pressure on my hips when I sleep on my side, and gives the right amount of support in that area. So I feel it’s great for people who do both. We do not use a boxspring underneath. So I am not sure if it would make a difference. Temperature - It’s early spring right now where I live, so I can’t speak for summer weather. But it has good breathability so you won’t roast while you sleep. Packaging - Now this is one reason why I took away a star. As the instructions state, when you open the vacuum seal, it should be properly fluffed up and ready to go in a couple of hours. When we received ours, it was late fall/early winter, and we could tell that it had been in the packaging for a while, so we gave it a full 48 hours before we slept on it to give it some more time to settle. But our mattress never fully fluffed up and still to this day it has not expanded fully. Two of the corners are kind of droopy and rounded down, as if someone put too tight of a bed sheet on it. I believe it is on the side that was wrapped all the way in on itself. You can pull up on the mattress cover fabric and see that there is still lots of room that the bed needed to expand to. But alas, it did not. The other reason I took off a star is the charcoal smell. My husband claims he couldn’t smell it, but I could and still can from time to time. It can be bothersome while trying to sleep. It seems that it has gone away some since we purchased it. So over time it slowly is disappearing. If you’re overly sensitive to smells, maybe try airing it out some with a fan. ... show more

UPDATE 8/2/20: I'm in contact with Brentwood for a free mattress pick up and donation, as well as a full refund! I plan to buy the hybrid in the Cypress, as this all-foam is far too firm for my liking. It feels like sleeping on a sleeping bag on the floor. Buyer beware: MUST LOVE FIRM! Customer service is A+! First, let me say that I purchased this mattress directly from Brentwood Home's website and not Amazon! I researched a million mattresses and ultimately decided on the Cypress Luxe 13" All-Foam for a few reasons; cost (received my queen for $574 with a coupon code), warranty (25 years--almost unheard of in mattress land!), made in the USA and fiberglass free (most cheaper memory foam mattresses are not and cause health issues!), eco-friendly and Greenguard approved, and a 1 year sleep trial with a full refund during that time! This bed is FIRM, hence the four stars. If you prefer plush or even medium, do not go this route! I'm still on my first week of having the mattress, but despite the firmness, I am sleeping like a rock! I find that I toss and turn much less than on our $2,300 Sealy iComfort memory foam mattress. I would say it also sleeps cooler and I don't wake up clammy! The bed took 24 hrs to reach full height and didn't need to off-gas as there wasn't any odor upon expansion. So far I am pleased, but hoping I will adjust to the firmness. I am a side sleeper and prefer something softer, but am willing to compromise if it means I feel rested in the morning! Have had this mattress for a few months and it is not worth the money. Everything was fine the first three months but it now makes a crinkle sound when laying on it. So every time you turn over it sounds like you're sleeping on eggshells. This is the second one I purchased. The first one would not inflate properly but the company replaced it without a problem. I bought two of these mattresses (on separate occasions) for my sons. My primary objective was to buy something that would not off-gas and was made of healthy materials. This mattress did not smell at all then we opened it,and the kids love them. I would say if someone is looking for a firm mattress this will disappoint. It's very soft. This mattress is dreamy. I had significant back and hip issues prior to getting this mattress. Within a week, my aches have diminished significantly. It sleeps cool for a foam mattress. It feels like a cloud for a while then my hip starts to hurt and I have to turn. I am also feeling too warm in it. Maybe in winter it will feel better, but so far I am worried it’s not the dream mattress I thought it was going to be. Sucks to get old

This mattress arrived packaged well. And setup was easy as expected from other experience with box mattresses. We find this mattress rather comfy, however it’s ridiculously hot. We wake up drenched in sweat every night. We chose this brand over others because of their highly rated return policy. But now we can’t even get in touch with the seller.
