I very much prefer to play games through local streaming, whether from my Xbox or my PC. The Ally (as a Windows PC) interfaces perfectly with those other Microsoft platforms making for a very user friendly and stable interaction. The downside for me has always been the form factor because it's too flat for me to find comfortable. The flatness is good if you want to bring it with you everywhere but I don't. I just want to go from my desk where I was working, to, afterwards, literally anywhere else around my house. These grips add quite a bit of bulk on the sides but that's EXACTLY what I was looking for. It feels like a normal controller now. They snap on very easily and have a nice solid fit to where you completely forget they're on there or even that your using a handheld PC. This product is highly recommended if you don't care about whether your Ally is optimized to be 'travel-friendly' ... show more

Let me start off by saying I am a YouTuber that reviews lots of pc handhelds and you know what they say.. comparison is the killer of all joy. I wanted to love the ROG ALLY but after feeling how comfortable the SteamDeck is i couldn’t love the Ally….. well that was before I found these. They really do transform the feeling of holding the ally and most importantly without adding any weight like most trips tend to do. I will say one tiny gripe I have is that I’m not sure how many times you can take this on and off without it breaking. And the plastic is nice and smooth but does really well rejecting fingerprints ! Will order more as a gift ... show more

    • Best Grip for the ROG Ally
I love these. They are lightweight and minimalist. The ergonomic improvement is off the charts. They do feel like Steamdeck grips. Deducted a star as they tend to start creaking once you take them on and off a few times. Still, these will be on my ROG Ally as long as they don't break. The material used does seem flimsy. Which I think is also the cause of the creaking. I do understand that this contributes to the lightness. Have to take the good with the bad. Now where are the ones for the Ally X? ... show more

These Ergo Comfort Grips have been one of the best accessories I've bought for my ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. Prior to these grips I have, unfortunately, experienced discomfort after a couple of hours gaming due to having large hands and the ROG's device body is just not ideal. After installing these grips, I can hold the device with little effort and enjoy hours of game time. I definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a better grip system for their Z1 or Z1 Extreme. Pros: + Easy to install + Material feels great on your hands + Grip can also be used to stand your console up (This wasn't advertised in the product's description, but it's a decent mention) + Fits as intended even with using the Cooling Modcase made by HandheldDIY and cooling still expels from the case with no issues or temperature increases Neutral: > Because the grip's size, I am no longer able to use the kickstand from my Modcase, but this is not a deal breaker as I mainly use a docking station during desktop use. As Drake famously once said, this grip is, “so thick that everybody in the room is so uncomfortable.” But uncomfortable is the LAST word I’d use to describe this. It’s super comfortable to use for a long time and is easy enough to install that an infant could do it. I’m very happy and have zero regrets, this is probably the best investment for my ROG ally. Please get this, your wrist and arm will thank you ... show more
