Description

The ASUS ROG Ally is one of the most impressive handheld PCs on the market. However, prolonged gameplay can lead to hand fatigue or discomfort due to the flatter design of the device's hand grips at the back. To address this, we have specially designed improved grips that seamlessly attach to both sides of the ROG Ally. The grips are crafted to follow the natural curvature and ergonomics of the hand, allowing for comfortable long-term gameplay without cramping. With the grips securely in place, the risk of accidentally dropping the ROG Ally is significantly reduced. Key features of the improved grips: A must-have accessory for players who enjoy gaming in handheld mode Grip design conforms to the user's hands for a personalized fit Enables extended play sessions without hand fatigue or strain Textured grip surfaces increase friction for a better overall handheld experience and improved control Additionally, the grips feature a built-in kickstand that allows the ROG Ally to be placed on a flat surface at a 70-degree angle. This ergonomic angle is perfect for both gameplay and media viewing. The improved shoulder button design on the grips ensures a comfortable resting position and easy access to the required buttons. Constructed with a lightweight yet durable design, the grips can withstand high levels of stress without compromising their structural integrity. Importantly, the grips include cutouts that maintain the original airflow to the ROG Ally, ensuring optimal cooling performance.

It is amazing, snug fit and give nice grip. But for the price you can find someone to 3D print it for a fraction of the price

    • Overall a Good Set of Grips

First off I'd like to state that I have one of the cooling mod back shells by HandheldDIY as you'll see in the pics. While I enjoy the Rog Ally in its stock config, these grips add a better level of comfort and ergonomics akin to holding a standard controller. Its made the whole experience nicer and fairly precise when it comes to any fps games or controlling the mouse in Windows or SteamOS. As far as cons the actual material is a bit flimsy and has slight flex to it that you'll probably notice whenever you adjust your hold(Also the grips seem slightly loose possibly due to my back shell but it looks the same as stock. Just bigger back vents). Its not noticeable unless you're trying to stay quiet in a silent room. Not a deal breaker for my personal uses. The only changes I would make to the grips themselves though would be in the coverage of the vents. It doesn't seem like its affected temps despite this. Overall I give this a 4 out of 5 stars but I'd give it a 4.3 if I could since it fills out a need for ergonomic grips. Not a bad product. ... show more

Overall the grips are amazing, it adds quite a bit of thickness which helps so much as far as comfort while playing for a long period of time. The rubber grip pad is a good idea, very nice spot to rest the tips of my fingers, but it would be nice to have some texture around the sides as the plastic is very smooth. I see complaints about the back buttons but I feel like it’s still just as easy to reach them I have no issues with that . My main gripe that makes me wonder if my set just had poor quality control, is the right grip is very loose and the clip towards the top by the fan keeps coming apart. Overall the right one is much more loose than the left ( the left doesn't budge at all btw) and almost feels not secure at all as the gaps in between the plastic are very noticeable. It could be because there is a little less plastic to hold it secure due to the buttons being on that side but I am unsure. I want to love it but it’s a little bothersome at times, maybe I’ll try another set and see if it was just this one I was sent this time. ... show more

    • Transformative for people with larger hands!
Color: Black
I very much prefer to play games through local streaming, whether from my Xbox or my PC. The Ally (as a Windows PC) interfaces perfectly with those other Microsoft platforms making for a very user friendly and stable interaction. The downside for me has always been the form factor because it's too flat for me to find comfortable. The flatness is good if you want to bring it with you everywhere but I don't. I just want to go from my desk where I was working, to, afterwards, literally anywhere else around my house. These grips add quite a bit of bulk on the sides but that's EXACTLY what I was looking for. It feels like a normal controller now. They snap on very easily and have a nice solid fit to where you completely forget they're on there or even that your using a handheld PC. This product is highly recommended if you don't care about whether your Ally is optimized to be 'travel-friendly' ... show more

    • Amazing Improvement to Long Hours of Gaming

These Ergo Comfort Grips have been one of the best accessories I've bought for my ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme. Prior to these grips I have, unfortunately, experienced discomfort after a couple of hours gaming due to having large hands and the ROG's device body is just not ideal. After installing these grips, I can hold the device with little effort and enjoy hours of game time. I definitely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a better grip system for their Z1 or Z1 Extreme. Pros: + Easy to install + Material feels great on your hands + Grip can also be used to stand your console up (This wasn't advertised in the product's description, but it's a decent mention) + Fits as intended even with using the Cooling Modcase made by HandheldDIY and cooling still expels from the case with no issues or temperature increases Neutral: > Because the grip's size, I am no longer able to use the kickstand from my Modcase, but this is not a deal breaker as I mainly use a docking station during desktop use. This is more of an FYI to those using the same Modcase and looking into this accessory. ... show more

    • Mades the ROG Ally feel like wide Xbox controller. AMAZING!!!
Color: Black
At the time of writing this review, I've had it installed for no less that 5 minutes. OMG did this surpass my expectations. This should be mandatory. I can play with my large hands and have some meat to hold on to. So comfortable, no more hand cramps. Solid grip. I'd recommend getting the backplate with the kickstand built in like the clear one. OMG this is AMAZING!!!! ... show more
