I'm new to baking with sourdough and excited to use this set. It has everything a beginner needs to get started plus some tools to help you take your sourdough baking to the next level. Pieces that I was excited to receive in this kit are the10-inch rattan basket with cover. It seems like a good quality basket for proofing and was a tool that I've been missing in my bread baking adventure. Also included is a bread lame for scoring and a dough scraper with a wooden handle. The mason-like jar with the hard top and the cloth top is good quality. The thermometer tape seemed pretty accurate right out of the box. There are additional tools that are all fine quality for a beginner baker. This is a nice kit to get someone started in sourdough.

This set includes a 9" oval and a 10" round proofing basket, both made of high-quality silicone with cloth liners. They are sturdy yet flexible, making it easy to shape and proof my dough effectively. The cloth liners are a nice addition, preventing sticking and aiding in easy release of the dough. What impressed me most about this kit is the comprehensive array of accessories included. From the sourdough starter jars and thermometer bands to the dough scraper and baking mat, everything you need to start your bread-making journey is right here. The addition of interchangeable blades for the scraper was particularly useful for different dough textures. The baskets are easy to clean and maintain, and they store neatly in the included cloth bag when not in use. The silicone scrapers and cleaning brush also make cleanup a breeze. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. The plastic components, such as the feeding day tracker bands, felt a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the set. Also, the instructions could be more detailed, especially for beginners who might need more guidance. Overall, I’m delighted with this bread proofing set. This kit may be best for a sourdough expert, definitely not for the one who is just beginning to get their toes wet in this art. I'm not sure even the experts would find it worth the money. The pros I talk to tend to use their grandma's methods which weren't very scientific or fancy. I like parts of what's in this box. Perhaps I would like everything if each item were described. I am a few weeks in to sourdough making and could have used a tutorial for the items. There is a video on the link but each item is only shown and not told how to actually use them and I found that the pieces in the video weren't the identical pieces that are inside this kit. Many parts of the kit aren't necessary and just extra fluff. The bowl and jar seem too small for my starter and dough. If I was looking to buy this kit, I would not and instead decide what I was needing on this journey and only purchase those items. What are those items? You really only need a jar, a lid/cap (which I like from this kit), a wooden spoon, and the ingredients. If I wanted to decorate my dough, it does come with something for that.

I love silicone utensils and dishes - it makes for easy clean up. I liked the glass jar vs plastic that some companies send or offer. I would recommend this set. It comes with measuring spoons, a cleaning brush, and a spatula. I do wish it came with a basic sour dough starter recipe, but that's what google is for.

This is all one could ask for to make sourdough bread. Except for detailed instructions for the beginner! The instructions are not bad, if you have experience making bread already. The two proofing bowls are silicone with cotton muslin liners/covers. They clean very easily. There is a jar for your sourdough starter that has a thermometer to help keep it from deteriorating. This is quite handy to have, though my mother and grandmother never checked the temperature, they baked their bread the same day every week. The accessories are all that you could want. The little whisk is really helpful. Though I have not grown very good at making designs on the bread with the knife yet. All fits into the lovely bag included in the set which is a nice touch. This is an affordable, worthwhile set for someone who already has a basic knowledge of baking sourdough bread.
