I’ve had a few different at home sets over the years, like the little foam balls you close in a door, etc. What I liked about this initially was the mounting system. I like that the brackets have tabs to hold them in place on the doors and screw points if you really want them secure. However, it pretty much ends there. First off, this has to be mounted on the outside of the door so that when you’re working out, you’re pulling against the frame; you absolutely would not want your latch being the only thing that holds this. So… what does this mean? If all your doors open inward, and you don’t have massive modern hallways, you likely won’t have the room to work out. Second, the brackets are so big and bulky, I could not even close the door fully. Also, the bracket on the hinge side has to be pushed against as you close the door, or the angles will dig into the wood and wreck your frame. The instructions are inadequate. They say the frames are marked for top and bottom, they are not. You’d think that the 60 pound bands would either be on the outsides, or the insides. But looking at the picture, it seems like the 60s are both supposed to face towards your hinge. Again, brackets not marked and poorly written instructions. The instructions also do not tell you to ensure you install on the outside of a door. Final thoughts… this thing totally trashed my door frame when it dug in when I wasn’t holding the bracket back as the door was closed. What little I was able to try, I’d say the bands don’t feel equal. I made sure they weren’t twisted, but they still didn’t feel right. Obviously Vitor Belfort doesn’t care what he attaches his name to, because this is not a quality set. ... show more

    • Great item! A complete gym in private. No problem with the apparatus. I researched this a bit.
There is no need to get a gym membership to get a solid workout. Nor do you need to go out of your home to experience what you can with this system. It includes an elaborate yet deceptively easy-to-install and use exercise alternative. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Exercise is vital since I haven't done so regularly, and my appearance shows it. I need to exercise, and I do not drive. I do not want to go to a gym where I feel self-conscious. I need this to work! This item is the best I have seen for the money so far. My research led me to this particular one. (I also purchased two others besides this one). I have not worked out in a long time. Not for years regularly. My health and body make this apparent. With the following concern, I still say that some research is a good idea because some of us need to work out in our homes, and this system is a nearly perfect opportunity for this to become a reality. With this system, there are possible caveats: My husband has trouble believing the door will be okay with this system; pulley/bracket/band/grip exercise apparatus. I suppose there might be a risk with a poorly-hinged door and a doorway that isn't solid. This problem he is having, though, involves our hollow door. This setup probably does not have anything to do with an issue with holding me up (165lbs.). The main worry I have is with the metal brackets on the door with the paint. So together we have to recommend getting an expert opinion. I have consulted with my building manager. His problem is with my weight, so I am happy I asked. I will proceed with caution. So far, there doesn't seem to be unusual stress on the door causing a sound that indicates a problem. I will put total weight on this system after losing ten or so lbs. Well, I am just being cautious. I am so happy that this setup uses two anchors on one side and two on the other (4 anchors). This setup will stabilize the weight and stress on the door and even it out. I thought I would include these concerns not to dissuade you but to let you know to be cautious. The worst thing is you will hear stress on the wood (or whatever materials) and stop immediately. Check the product page to ask questions first. That way, you will get your answer, which might differ from what I have written here. Other than that, there is no problem with the integrity of this system. It is solid! The bands are enough for much weight, so I recommend doubling up if you need an in-between and if you want the suitable resistance for your needs. The pulley is solid! I am using this and a resistance band/bar set up around the same amount of money. That one has no decent anchor. I will look into combining other attachments from Amazon and the setup we are reviewing. This price is appropriate to boot. I choose the pulley system because it is smooth, solid, stable, and high-quality—easy setup, easy to store in a duffel. The brochure explains a lot.     • Works great. Helping my teen prepare for track season.
My newly turned 15 year old felt it was time to put on some muscle. My choices were a big weight bench that required a spotter and would need a lot of room, a Bow Flex type machine that also requires a lot of room, and this. I decided to try this. We watched videos by chance of people using resistance bands (resistance band fails on YouTube...hilarious stuff). These resistance bands have no chance of detaching from the door and snapping you, so that's great. This is firmly attached to an external door. I do have to close that door harder than usual, but there's no more draft from that door so that's a win for me. My son says he can really feel a burn while using it. He's been mostly sedentary this summer and needs to get back in top form for track, so this has been helping him. He works his thighs and calves as well as his arms...not at the same time. I've even started using it and it doesn't give me as much of a burn in my muscles as I'd like. It was interesting finding out that I'm stronger than my teen, when he challenged me expecting it to be really difficult for me at the lowest band. Even my 10 year old uses it from time to time but only while I'm watching. He would definitely be one of the people in the resistance band fail videos if I wasn't keeping an eye and preventing him from doing crazy things...like attempting to run forward while strapped in, thinking he was being funny He almost went flying backwards into the door, but I anticipated it and stepped forward preventing the resistance from yeeting him to the ER. So don't let younger kids use it without very close supervision. Other than that this is great. 5 stars. ... show more
