I am looking for a comfortable Santoku knife that is comfortable in the hand. This one, for me, is not. It weights a whopping 16 oz. That’s twice the weight of many others. The handle at the widest place, is a fat 3 5/8 inches in circumference. So fat, it makes it more difficult to grasp. The blade is straight…not going to be able to rock it tip to back for an easy cut. The blade, on the top, is 2.54mm wide. This very wide width may make it sturdy, but also makes it difficult to slice through large hard foods like butternut squash. The blade is sharp, but the tip is kind of dull. If you just need a Santok knife get this one. If want a Satok knife you will love, do further research before buying.

Beautifully packaged making it an excellent gift. Purchased for a friend of mine once I discovered she did not have a Santoku knife while at her house preparing a meal. Now it is her favorite knife as well. I use mine to cut everything. Very sharp. Would definitely purchase again.

I have a Messermeister set for work but wanted to have something at home and was surprised how nice this TUO was. Nice fat handles and the weight distribution is pretty fair. They are heavier than my professional set but nothing to fret about. Totally worth the money. I bought each one (5 total) separate to customize my set but they sell these in a block set as well. Honing after 4 uses is recommended.

The media could not be loaded. The lid was very loose and it looks like someone dropped it and just shoved everything back in the box. There’s also a smudge on the knife blade.
