    • High price without high function.

I'm coming from a series 7 razor to the series 9 pro+. My series 7 was ok, and the 9 is different, but not necessarily any better. I'm a daily shaver that was looking for a high quality electric razor. I find the shave is not quite as close as the 7 and the big razor head makes it harder to navigate the harder to get hairs. From the reviews, I was hoping the shave would be better. The unit feels good in the hands so I will not easily drop it, but unlike the 7 that at least had a metal head, this unit is constructed of plastic and rubber. It seems to be put together well, but at this price point, it would be nice to see some metal cladding around it. Charging and noise levels are good, no complaints there. The cleaning unit works well enough, but the cleaner goes in from the back which is not as convenient as the older models which load from the front. I'm confused why they made this change, I do prefer the front loading better but whatever. I'd also like to mention the utility brush getting smaller after each generation they make. I guess the thought is if they make the brush small enough, you'll have no choice but to use their cleaning machine. I think Braun should think about having models aimed at the type of person who needs them (daily shaver, shave every 3 days, etc) instead of marketing one high end shaver that tries to do too much but doesn't do any of them great. ... show more

    • Excellent razor but manual stinks

I am very pleased with this razor. I’ve retired so I am not shaving each day. This was a major pain with my previous razor, but the Braun takes care of up to 5 days growth with no extra effort. I do like the cleaning station. Since I am shaving only once or twice a week, I remove and seal the cleaning cartridge between shaves. It works well and avoids me washing the head and drying it by hand. My rating would have been a 5, except for my disappointment in the “manual”. It is all pictorial instructions. For many, I can’t determine what they are trying to tell me. See for yourself. The manual is online. I’ve had to watch a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of threads to make sure I’m not doing something wrong (e.g removing the foil and washing the blades and foils. I’m still not sure how I should dry it before putting it away, It does seem that I can’t use the charging station for drying like I did with my older Panasonic. ... show more

Meh. Honestly, this thing should be better at this price point. I have been shaving daily for 25 years. I've tried all sorts of razors - from straight and 5-blades, to foil and rotary. This is by far the biggest disappointment in my shaving experience. First off, don't bother reviewing the directions for this thing - they're just pictures and make absolutely no sense. Second, know that this works "better" for shaving a bald head (with very little stubble/hair) than on a face with the same growth (again, daily shaving here people... and I'm not sasquatch). In fact, after I shave my head and face, I grab my $9.99 battery-operated two-rotary "B"-branded razor to get all the spots this thing missed. Sad, really. So, why did I buy this? It replaced an older version that lasted about 7 years. While I don't like the need to continually buy cleaning fluid cartridges, it had been a major convenience for me. After the cheap finishish on the last one bubbled and peeled to the point of disgust, I I figured this would be an upgrade. Boy was I wrong. I simply cannot recommend this product for the price point. Especially when I have a $10 rotary fromy local grocery store that does a better job. ... show more
