To preface, I am using this to shave my head and face. I am not a balding/bald man, just wanted a clean head. The Braun Series 9 Pro+ did an excellent job of this. I razor shaved my head, and waited 4 days to use this electric razor to test how it did on a decent growth of hair. It cut cleanly through and gave me an excellent, almost razor-close shave. The motor didn't "bog down" like some of the cheaper electrics have. The cleaning station does it's job well and the solution it comes with leaves it with a nice citrus scent. It cut well on my face as well, although it did have trouble in spots where my hairs grow wildly in different directions, but any razor I've used has this issue. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a high quality electric foil shaver for either head or face use. I do feel it is priced a bit high however. ... show more

I have used a Series 9 for many years (9290cc) and replaced the blade about every year. It's been a fantastic razor and I've never had a problem with it. I just upgraded from the S6 and I couldn’t be happier. With the S6 I had to go over each area several times and still felt areas that it didn’t get. With the S9 Pro+ it takes me about 1/4 of the time to shave and the quality of the shave is amazing

I really had high hopes for an electric shaver. I used Gillette Sensor Excel blade razor for years so I thought I would try the S9 Pro+ by Braun as I thought it would make my life easier and give me a close shave. If my beard was 3 mm or more, it would not cut it no matter what I did. I would end up having to use my Gilette razor at the end anyway. I even decided to just use my regular razor and leave two or three hairs on my neck, and on my face that were about millimeters along. No matter what direction I came at, it would not these hairs.     • Doesn't Hold Up To Advertising Claims

I was drawn to this razor as it was advertised as working on up to 7 days of beard. I find that it struggles after just 3 days for my beard, especially on my neck and jawline. It just doesn't get everything, even after 15 minutes. When I waited a week, I ended up just giving up and using my gillette manual razor to finish. Spent 30 minutes trying to get a clean shave, but it just wouldn't handle anything below the chin. I also find the cleaning station to be garbage. It never comes out clean. I always thoroughly rinse the head off before putting it in for a clean, and somehow it manages to come out with more whiskers on it. Success with this will depend on what your beard is like. If it grows in like mine, this won't get the job done unless you use it every single day. Given the claims of up to a week, I was disappointed with the disconnect between advertising and experience. If you're looking for a daily driver, this might be great for you. Just beware of claims that it can handle a week of growth. I find that it feels nice in the hand, and is well built. It's easy to use, and pretty straightforward. I wish it could get the job done for me, but I am not someone who shaves daily. The entire premise behind me getting this was to use it every 4-7 days.     • Close comfy shaves, few design issues

The very good it shaves quickly smoothly and comfortably with no irritation at all which is its purpose. The razor body feels solid although the large head size took me a little getting used to. The clean and charge works great too, more on that below. I admit I like it’s fresh smell each time. Minor irritants, if your getting this or a similar model with similar head you basically really need the cleaner as the heads been designed in such a way you can’t get it clean without it. The power button I feel could have been placed somewhere else, nothing I won’t get over but it’s at the sweet spot where I tend to grip it and have accidentally shut it off while shaving a couple times. And you can’t shave with cord plugged into the razor though it will charge. The major irritation, as I said above the cleaning system I feel is a necessity so fine, but to add insult the power cord on it plugs in the rear of the unit and can easily be knocked out when changing the cleaning cartridge, the cartridges are alcohol based and will evaporate if left open, the way it’s designed it discourages you from opening it up and removing cartridge and capping it if not in use, that has to be done on purpose I can’t imagine it being built that way for any other. ... show more
