This is a LONG-TERM review. I ordered this in 2022 and have used it now for about 2.5 years. I am extremely, extremely satisfied. For reference, I am a textbook laser hair removal candidate, according to previous professional laser hair removal consultations: medium to fair skin tone, with coarse, dark hair. I have used this on pesky, persistent facial hair that resisted previous professional treatments (sideburns, chin, lip, jawline) as well as under the arms, lower belly, and legs. Initially I treated every 3 weeks, and now I treat every 6-8 weeks. I dry shave my face and conventionally shave my underarms, legs, bikini area, etc,. and then treat with the laser. My primary goal was to eliminate the facial hair, as it caused a great deal of discomfort -- acne, ingrowns, self-consciousness about my appearance, etc. In short, I was miserable and really overwhelmed with how to treat this. Fortunately, this routine has eliminated about 99% of dark hairs on my chin, and completely eliminated my "extended" sideburn, upper lip, and jaw regrowth. My skin has improved immeasurably; it is clear, blemish free, and over time I have even seen a reduction in hyperpigmentation because of the lack of prolonged irritation. I cannot recommend this enough for people seeking permanent facial hair removal! I will continue to treat until the device no longer works, because I am still seeing minor improvements over time. I have also had excellent results on my legs and underarms as well, but the hair here has always been thicker, and so my results are not surprising, but I would be satisfied if this had been my primary goal as well. I now only need to shave these areas about once a month, and even then, my hair is softer, finer, and lighter. This has had excellent side benefits I hadn't anticipated. Not only is there a reduction in irritation from less frequent shaving, but in general, my skin has improved simply because of the improvement in my hair texture. I used to get uncomfortable ingrown hairs in these regions; now, I no longer get any. I also have seen an improvement in skin tone, reduced chafing, etc. Because my hair is so dense (pretty much everywhere on my body), these results took TIME. The vast majority of the success was in the first year, and now after 2.5 years, I feel like I look exactly how I had originally hoped. I would never have been able to afford professional treatment for this duration -- after an initial round of 6 treatments, I decided to try this at-home option, and it has been more effective than I could have hoped. TLDR: This device is very effective, especially for folks with high contrast hair/skin, and will save you thousands of dollars in professional treatments. It will work very well for any area, and is very easy to use. It may take a little longer than you think for certain hair types (like mine), but it is absolutely worth it. I wish I'd bought this sooner. Like, years ago. I am very fair skinned with very dark and coarse hair. I've been using this on my legs, arm pits, and bikini line weekly for about 3 months, and I am in awe of how well it has worked. I exfoliate (mitt, have also used sugar scrub) and shave (two blade) about an hour before I do the treatment, and moisturize with Cerave cream after treating. The machine is quiet, I usually put on a Bravo show while doing my treatments. They took awhile at first (>1hr for all three areas), but now that everything has slowed down and I have a rhythm down, it's less than an hour. Legs: after 4 treatments, I started to notice how the hair is finer, and some patches aren't growing back. I've now done 12 treatments and I have gone from shaving every day/every other day to once a week. I'm due for my next treatment tomorrow and have very little patches. Arm pits: This is where I saw results the fastest! This was definitely a "shave every day" spot because I cannot stand the feel of stubble. After about 4 weeks, it was much finer (no stubble feel!) and very patchy. After 12 weeks, I can count about 6 hairs under each arm. Bikini line: The main reason why I bought this. I hate shaving here, and bikini waxes are expensive. I have incredibly sensitive skin. It's been probably the slowest area for results, but it's working! Almost immediately, the hair was finer and I wasn't getting ingrowns when shaving each week to do a treatment...that alone is a win. 12 treatments in, everything is much finer and there are spots where hair just isn't growing. I do have some growth after a week, but it's not super noticeable. Pain: At first, like a rubberband snap. Now? Sometimes I feel it, mostly it's just warm. I think my arm pits are the most sensitive spot. I also avoid a particularly dark mole on my shin because I know that'll hurt. I do not have tattoos on my legs, but one very close to my arm pit and am careful to not zap near it (...it'll hurt AND damage the tattoo). ... show more
