I can say however I am very pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I didn't realize that infrared night vision was a real thing or at least how well it worked until I got this night vision binoculars. I could not believe how clearly I can see using this binoculars even in the pitch dark. This is amazing binoculars that's great for both daylight and especially at night times that can take photos and record videos! WHAT!! The product does work, to a degree, but not nearly as well as advertised. Was ultimately disappointed and underwhelmed. The image has poor resolution, the zoom aspect isn't at all as good as described, a substantial amount of ambient light is needed to see anything at night.

Love these and that they are capable of taking photos and videos, with the ability to playback. The zoom is excellent and you can see quite a far distance away, crystal clear. This is a nice complete night vision package in a sturdy case. It comes with a padded strap for the binoculars which is also a nice touch, and the IR light is quite strong so you're able to see in total darkness much further than you might think. The body is a ruggedized housing, and the manual focus ring is easy to adjust, though it is a bit stiff. There are some issues with this unit however. For example, it has a nose cutout and it is designed to be put up to your face to look through (like normal binoculars) however when you do so you can't fully focus on the screen, and everything will always be slightly blurry. If you hold it away from your face, you can focus basically ok, but it never really gets sharp, nor do recorded images/video. Zoom is entirely digital, and it goes up in steps, so each click of the + or - jump it forward or backward. Battery life is OK but considering a single 18650 battery is powering the unit that makes sense. The battery choice is actually a saving grace for this unit. While the single battery doesn't offer the longest life compared to others with a built-in battery, you can have spares with you and swap them out, whereas those with a built-in battery could leave you powerless if you're not careful. Additionally, it is replicable with a more powerful 18650 battery, so this does give you options. Overall, I felt like this offers acceptable quality video recording with good range on the night vision aspect. Battery life isn't stellar, but since you can swap out the battery that is actually not too big of a deal, and for many could be a huge driving factor to go with this unit over others. My main issue was that it doesn't focus clearly when held to your face, but that too can be worked around. ... show more

So this is just my opinion but since these are called 'military grade' I would have assumed that you could see body heat at night, but that is not the case. And I am sure that the military can see body heat with their night vision goggles. Nonetheless, these do allow you to see in the night. I wanted night vision goggles mainly for when I am camping alone. Not being able to see into the darkness can be scary sometimes, not knowing if it is a person approaching or an animal. The picture is not crystal clear; but clear enough that you can definitely tell what you are looking at. It is a bonus that these also act as binoculars in the daylight as well as have the ability to take pictures. The goggles seem to be well made and feel solid, not cheap.
